A valid point, but he has managed to lead large armies in a zombie appocolypse and has overcome insurmountable odds.
I've never really been impressed with Cyclops as a leader or a character in any way.

Just based off what I've seen from both characters. They both have their flaws but Rick at least attempts to be prepared for all situations. Cyclops seems to rely too heavily on those around him and would be outmatched in a one-on-one battle against someone I view as a smarter individual.

Even if, IF, Rick is smarter than Cyclops. Cyclops shoots lasers from his eyes. The End. JFK was a good leader. He can't beat up Cyclops.

It's been a few years since I've read a lot of X-Men comics but they didn't portray him as much of a genius of any kind when I was interested.

Galactus can devour worlds but that's never stopped our super-heroes from defeating him. I don't think simply having super-powers affords him victory. He's not bullet-proof so really it only requires Rick to stay alive long enough to get a gun shot off.

Comics, animated series, and film.
My comics knowledge is limited to books prior to, during, and immediately following the original Onslaught arc. I got bored during Age of Apocalypse and haven't been back.
