Vertigo is one if my favorite publishers now.

Absolutely. I am currently reading Saga of the Swamp Thing (Alan Moore), Sandman (Neil Gaiman), and Transmetropolitan (Warren Ellis) and all are some of the best writing I've ever read.

One more thing. Don't you have to separate non-powered and powered characters?

Moon Knight is badass but there's no scenario where he beats Magneto.

My point exactly.

Nope. Let the non-powers get their butts handed to them like they should.

Technically the bracket for Marvel Heroes and Villians has been decided already

Okay

We can argue about who gets the byes later. Before I go to practice I will start another thread just for Marvel Heroes.

Lets just keep nominating heroes in this thread and then I'll move them over to the other thread. Then we can cut it down to 14 this weekend.

We will settle on:

14 Marvel Heroes
14 DC Heroes
14 Marvel Villians
14 DC Villians
4 Misc Heroes
4 Misc Villians

for the initial bracket.

We can just randomize the seeding and let it be a big arse free for all.

I haven't checked those out yet. I'm gonna look into them. Fables is really good as well.

Image Comics is also great. I buy more of those smaller publishers than Marvel and DC. I find they are darker and have better characters.

Another non-Marvel/DC comic to check out is Jennifer Blood by Garth Ennis. I've read the first volume and it is damn good. The publisher is Dynamite Comics.

64 in each category. Go big or go home.

Yep, I have the entire run. Really enjoyed it and needed more Ennis after finishing Preacher and The Boys.

Y: The Last Man ranks up with Preacher as my #1/#2 series of all time.

The one thing that I strongly suggest is that we avoid all god-tier characters (Thanos, Galactus, etc.)

Not to be a douche, but all of these are god-tier. Unless you aren't counting Dr. Doom's theft of the Beyonder's powers or Nova with the Worldmind. The others are still god-tier and two are, in fact, gods. And the Hulk and Apocalypse are pretty much god-tier in some iterations. That's my 2 cents, anyway.

But this is a good list so far. Are we counting Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock as god-tier?
