She was signing autographs in Orlando when a psychopath shot her and killed himself after. People are sick.

A friend of the family posted on their Facebook that she has died. They claim to have spoken to her brother, who was right next to her when she was shot.

ABC News is confirming that she has died from her wounds.

quote:

Singer Christina Grimmie, a performer on "The Voice" in 2014, has died after being shot at a concert venue in Orlando, Florida, Friday evening, her rep said in a statement. She was 22.

Her rep said in a statement, "It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn't survive the gun shot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning. If you'd like to give back to Christina's family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need."

Didn't really know who she was but to die like that at the age of 22 years old . Just sad. I bet she was in shock after being shot. Damn that sucks thinking about it.

I watched that season of The Voice pretty much for her, hoping she would win. She was a big gamer too, used to watch her play LoL on Twitch on occasion.

Really nice, pretty girl, and far far too young.

What a fricking shame.

Just read the news. So terrible. She was incredible on the Voice. Seemed like a really cool person too as she played a lot of video games interacting with fans. Reports said her brother tackled the shooter then the shooter shot himself. Awful news.

Wow I really can't believe this, she was a great person. I happened to discover her around 2010 before she got on the voice and such. She was very humble and tried to touch base with all the fans that she could. RIP CG

Not to take away and turn this into political but people saying this is a pet peeve of mine. It may be going to shite for many reasons but violent crime isn't one of them.

Just posted this on the OT in another thread:

Gun deaths are down but mass shootings are up

quote:

Premeditated mass shootings in public places are happening more often, some researchers say, plunging towns and cities into grief and riveting the attention of a horrified nation. In general, though, fewer Americans are dying as a result of gun violence — a shift that began about two decades ago.

All violent crime has been declining since the 70's

quote:

Today, the national crime rate is about half of what it was at its height in 1991. Violent crime has fallen by 51 percent since 1991, and property crime by 43 percent. In 2013 the violent crime rate was the lowest since 1970. And this holds true for unreported crimes as well. According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, since 1993 the rate of violent crime has declined from 79.8 to 23.2 victimizations per 1,000 people

That being said, RIP to her and condolences to her family. I have watched some of her covers on YT and saw her on The Voice. She built a career for herself as a teenager. Said to see any young life end tragically and very sad to lose a talented person that worked as hard as she did to achieve her goals.

Senseless madness. So sorry for her and her family and friends.

Wasn't she on this season's show a few times commenting on fashion or something along those lines?
