Sadly this isn't being produced by Disney but by Universal. So no Hit Girl singing "Part of Your World."

You'd think that would be the clear one to do after they're finished with Beauty and the Beast and Mulan. That's one I think that could be incredibly improved by Disney, since Ariel is just a selfish stupid bitch in the animated film. I think Cinderella's character was improved by Disney's remake this year, and Ariel's I think can be greatly improved.

Make her more of an idealist who doesn't think that the land and the sea shouldn't be separated as societies, and then she turns into more of a hero in the end instead of a selfish, dumb bitch who sells her soul to Satan for a man she doesn't know. Make her more in line with Miranda, Rapunzel, and Anna as far as her character is concerned.

I doubt this will stop Disney from doing the remake. I don't know how close they could get to Disney's version without getting their balls sued off. Couldn't do anyone from the Disney version besides Ariel, the Prince, and Triton. They definitely couldn't straight up adapt Ursula. It's the clear next Disney remake, and Universal is just trying to beat them to the punch.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. A mainstream movie that gives the Asians their due. People say that black people get the shaft, but there are plenty of movies that star black people and are about black people. Name one American movie starring an Asian guy whose name is not Jackie Chan? Harold and Kumar? That's all that is coming to mind, and it completely lampoons the concept. They are the ones who have really gotten the shaft.

I don't think they're allowed to call her Ariel. Disney owns that name as it relates to The Little Mermaid.

Yeah, you're right. They're really going to have to beat around the bush in order for them to not get sued into an oblivion. I'm sure the lawyers are heavily on standby for this one. The original Snow White was a very straight up adaptation, to where you didn't really have to worry about the lawyers for the remake that much so long as you didn't use the characters costumes, looks, or the Dwarfs names.

But this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I doubt the people at Disney are taking too kindly to this and are looking for just about anything that they can sue them for millions of dollars over. Seriously, no Flounder, no Ursula, no Sebastian, no Scuttle, no Eels. If they even get a hint that they took something as inspiration from the Disney version, they will be sued and likely win. Unless they've got a great story that they've somehow found to be in no way taking inspiration from the Disney version, I don't see how they won't have a lawsuit on their hands with this.

I'll happily stand against Women's Lib movement for believing the idea of being horny over the opposite gender is "selfish".

So make it about racism? Don't let the fish people cross the border so she makes a deal with Ursula the cartel queen? And has to make a white guy fall in love with her.

I doubt they have to worry about a lawsuit. This seems more like an adaptation of the original fairy tale, which has very little in common with the Disney version.

It's strange to see her now smoking hot but remember her not so long ago as a child.
