Interesting all the hate for Ben considering the last several movies he's been involved with have all been good. Also this reaction is a bit reminiscent of the reaction when Ledger was named as the joker. Let's keep that in mind
This

And its much better than some of the Abercrombie models being mentioned

Not knocking Keaton's Batman, what I am saying is any actor that posses mediocre talent and a decent jawline can be the man in the suit and come off intimidating. Pulling off Wayne is the hard part.

Some of you are acting like they gave it to Shia Labeuf.

I know.

Affleck is no Daniel Day-Lewis by any stretch of the imagination but he also isn't B-movie caliber either. He had a run in the late-90s to early-00s of picking bad scripts. That all changed in '06 (at least for me) when he starred as George Reeves in Hollywoodland. Since then he's been on a winning streak - both on and off camera.

I never dreamt that Affleck would play the role of Batman and, while the choice hasn't gotten me anymore excited for this movie than I already am, I still think it's a good casting choice.

You didn't like Ben in The Town?

He's not god awful anymore, but there are a lot better actors. You'd think he'd rather be director at this point in his career. I'd of been behind that.

Argo and the town as actor/director. Gone baby gone as director. State of play and Hollywoodland as an actor.

People in here are acting like this is the Ben from 13 years ago.

The guy is completely legit now.

I don't like the decision. I hate it actually.

I don't see Affleck as Bruce Wayne at all.

This movie just feels forced to me.

Wow.

I think it's terrific casting. I wonder how he'll like them apples?

If only Goyer weren't writing.

If it's makes you feel any better, it's almost certainly not going to happen. He would cost a fortune, especially since I presume they would want the actor cast to be locked up for multiple pictures.

Im not knocking Affleck as an actor or anything, but him as Batman just makes no sense to me. Seems like such a lazy choice not made for whose best for the role, but whats the biggest name we can get to sell tickets. It sounds real Clooney-esque move right now. Hopefully this turns into move a Heath Ledger "holy shite i was wrong" move but im not holding out hope

I love this decision, but would like it even more if he also directed. I hate Snyder's work. The dude is a hack.

Ben Affleck from 2003 =/= Ben Affleck of 2013.

His performances since 2006, both on and off the camera, bear this out.

I'm not saying it will be amazing and no ones arguing he didn't have a really bad stretch exemplified by Gigli and Daredevil. But his good will hunting/Kevin smith stretch before then was really good and pretty much everything since Hollywoodland in 2006 has been good to great.
