I think people need to be more concerned that Warner Bros is trying to force this crossover more than who is donning the cape and cowl.

Seriously the most accomplished actor is about to portray Batman, a Oscar winning writer and director, and this is a bad idea.

Uh...it's happening. Warner Bros. released a statement. Ben Affleck has been officially cast as Batman.

There is so much hostility in here. Let there be peace.

Can you tell me how they are forcing it? And would you still call it forced if Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises didn't exist?

Affleck is a good actor and I'm happier with him being Batman than most others.

Did Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel look like it was taking place in the same universe?
Warner Bros has tried to force this before back in the 90's. LINK

Wow. That's pretty crazy then. I'm cool with it from an acting perspective but I wonder how much he's making. I doubt he's giving any discounts.

Bringing up shite movies he did a decade ago isn't a good argument to the contrary.

So this means Affleck will be the best thing about this movie? Probably my only reason to go see it seeing as the premise is going to be awful.

Seems like such a lazy choice not made for whose best for the role, but whats the biggest name we can get to sell tickets.
Well yeah thats a given.

Rushing to IMMEDIATELY reboot Batman and make a Superman/Batman movie in itself is pure greed

People were excited about Superman, but I didn't hear anybody jumping up and down to reboot Batman when a classic trilogy had just wrapped

The supporting cast and writing will definitely matter. Put Affleck around talent and he shines.

I agree. It's not like Terminator: Salvation was some tour de force of script writing and acting and that was more recent than Gigli.

I really couldn't tell one way or the other and neither could you. Either way...I fail to see your point.

You apparently weren't at the panel in San Diego when this movie was officially announced. The place was a mad house. People literally cried because they were so elated.

The fans want this movie. That much is true.

I love this decision, but would like it even more if he also directed. I hate Snyder's work. The dude is a hack.
I'd feel better if he was directing, but even in his recent movies his acting is average at best. Meh.

Yeah I did, when The Dark Knight Trilogy was clearly about Bruce and the City of Gotham

Man of Steel was clearly about Clark, Krypton and a teleporting Lois Lane.

Neither film really crossed besides some Wayne Enterprises satellite. The Dark Knight was not setting up some DC universe.

I believe that Man of Steel fell far short of Warner Bros expectations, Very successful, but no Dark Knight. How do you get Dark Knight numbers, you put him in your movie. Batman drives the bus right now and after Man of Steel, Warner Bros now knows this. That is where this idea came from. Forcing it.

And this proves they can't be in the same universe....how?

Considering this movie has been on their radar screens for the past 20 years I do not believe they are forcing it. You're just replacing Michael Keaton and Christopher Reeve with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

I've been personally waiting for this movie since I first found out that Superman and Batman were both published b DC Comics. So...basically all of my life.
