I enjoyed that episode - and the real Ronald D. Moore appeared as a BSG actor or something in the sketch, as well.

I was asking because if it is Moore, I was going to say that I'm considering lifting my moratorium on the new BSG and watching it, now that I've fully processed who he is in the context of Star Trek and his other work, and solely based on the recommendations of the M/TV board and Moore's involvement.

In short, absolutely yes. As a trial basis, however, do the SciFi miniseries that preceded the actual show. If you dig the 3H miniseries, then move forward.

BSG is a great drama. It's set in space, but that's just the backdrop. Survival, Politics, Religion, Love, Relationships, BSG has it all. One of the best TV series of all-time. I place it up there with some of the greatest.

I have been saying a variation of this for years when I try to explain why the show is so good to nonwatchers. Yes, it happens in space, but there's no reason why the bulk of the events in the show couldn't happen on Earth to a carrier group and a flotilla of survivors of some sort of calamity.

The fact that they didn't go full sci-fi with rubber alien masks, etc. was refreshing to me, and I'm a huge sci-fi buff.

What order should a new viewer watch it in? I see there is a series and a mini series that are apart of the same storyline.

I still have Battlestar Galactica toys from the late 70's. Ask him where I can get replacement decals for them.

Meh. I still have the board game. I got rid of my toys a long time ago. Before my kids were born, motherfricker.

I had one of these as a kid:

The missiles were spring loaded and shot a good 10-15ft.

Unfortunately the next generation of kids were dumb and confused toys as food and started choking on parts.

A friend of mine at work has recommended it. What do you guys think? I really enjoyed the mini series. However, my time this summer is restraint to one series.

I mean if you are interested in watching a Top 5 overall series narrative in TV history, sure, give it a watch. Space or not, it's awesome, unique, and unmatched in a few areas. It's also not simply a science fiction show.

If you aren't interested in greatness, skip it.

This thread makes me want to do a re-watch. Is it on prime or other streaming services?
