It hasn't been funny since the early 1990s.

I watched because I like Aziz. I don't get upset about a tv show.

Apparently SNL is your safespace snowflake; it is definitely a liberal progressive echo chamber.

I quit years ago. Its just not funny and its political slant is so commonplace w/ the Daily Show, Samantha Bee, Seth Myers etc. Just nothing to it interesting or funny.

I stopped watching years and years ago. Has nothing to do with politics or boycotting...I just don't think it's funny.

I dont understand why this topic gets rehashed time and time again

SNL has always been topical, situational, and generational. It's an ongoing cycle that's been repeating since it first aired.

when you were a kid, your folks thought SNL was funny, you didnt, you were too young. Your grandparents didnt understand it, nor think it was funny. Eventually, you aged to a point to where SNL was the funniest shite on TV - to YOU......your parents however thought it was dumb and not funny, and hadn't been funny in years. They think SNL went downhill ever since ____________ left the show.

Eventually, virtually everyone gets to a point in their life where it's no longer funny. You've changed, you've gotten older. The cast changes, they're new, they're actually now younger than you are. It's no longer your style of humor. Show clips of Mr Bill to a 22yr old, see if he laughs.

Are they more politicized now than before? I dont know, I havent watched it in 10+ years. But that's besides the point. It's not funny anymore because the audience is constantly aging, and the material is constantly changing, the cast is constantly changing.

Anyone else think that chick who did the skit in bed is an awful actress?

Between her overbite and her annoying voice she's pretty bad

bullshite. Its always been topical and political but always had a make fun of both sides feeling until recently. When your primary function is to make a political point and not to create a laugh, you're only going to appeal to a smaller crowd that is just smugly nodding their heads.

Yes, she is terrible. I actually liked her in that skit though because her voice is the most un sexy thing ever, so it worked.

They really squandered the good will from the 40th anniversary special. That made me want to watch again but I soon realized it couldn't hold a candle to even the Will Ferrell days.

I still can't believe they squandered Eddie Murphy. They certainly should have had "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood" in that episode.

SNL reports about as much facts as FOX News yet people still watch that. Who cares it's funny cause it actually offends Trump. He should stop watching it if he is going to be so sensitive. Thin skin.

I'm a Republican who laughed at Will Ferrell as Bush. I don't laugh at Baldwin. They will demolish Republicans on the show then "make fun" of Hilary with something tame like "can you believe she can't dance?"

Well said. I've noticed that no matter the year, no matter the cast, "yesteryear" was always better when it comes to SNL.

I think so, but I'm not sure. They've always done politics and that's often been their best material. I love the political humor. It's probably always slanted liberal. Now, it's 100% liberal. That doesn't bother me so much.

But don't make up shite about racism. Don't keep calling me racist. Don't keep pretending that white people are committing vast numbers of hate crimes and that the poor peaceful people of color are all huddling in fear. That's where I draw the line.

I think Baldwin as Trump is funny. He does a good impression. Ferrell's wasn't as spot on as Baldwin's is, but it's just as funny.

If they were to make a movie or TV show based on the election (non-mockingly), I'd say Baldwin would be the best choice to play Trump.

Baldwin does a good Trump. Ferrel did a good W. Dana Carvey did a good Bush Sr. Tina Fey was brilliant as Palin. SNL's best stuff is political.
