Interesting thought. She was calling the child her grand-baby the whole time. Maybe it was because she knew both of the twins were her grandchildren. Not sure if it will go that way but nice perspective either way. I haven't heard that theory yet.

I think it's much more likely that she assumes the bigger/alpha child is Tate's (being demon-powered and all), thus calling it her grandchild.

Who is Thaddeus? He looked awesome!

Thaddeus is/was the son of Charles and Nora Montgomery (the original owners, the doctor and the chick that told Thaddeus to "go away" in this week's episode) who was kidnapped and mutilated as an infant and now still haunts the house, down in the basement, wearing a lace gown that Nora made for the boy's funeral.

After Thaddeus was returned to the Montgomerys in separate pieces, in jars (not sure why), Charles (addicted to ether) assembled him back together in a horrific Frankenbaby manner and then brought the boy *back to life* using the beating heart of one of his illegal abortion patients.

Although she was horrified Nora herself had become so mentally unbalanced that her desperation for a child drove her to go up to Thaddeus's nursery to see Charles' creation then try to get Thaddeus to suckle her, but she saw that the child now only wanted blood. It was right after that when she killed Charles and herself.

While Thaddeus did die, we still not sure what his motives are nor why he has the face of an old man (my guess to the latter is that anyone whose body is on the property can appear to age). Are we seeing his ghost or the real *re-animated* corpse? Thaddeus is responsible for killing the ginger twins when they broke into the then-abandoned house in the 70s and he also scratched up Leah's face when Violet led her into the basement with the intent to scare her (mission accomplished, btw).

If they do end up with new casting next season, I will damn sure miss Constance!! I hope Jessica Lange wins the Golden Globe she was nominated for, she has always been one of my favorite actresses.

where the Montgomerey's bodies not on the property? I guess not

the maid has aged
thaddeus has aged

the gay guys haven't been dead long enough to age...but they were probably buried offsite too

ditto for the Boston chick

good theory

What about Tate though? He's been dead for like 15 years. And the original owners (name?) have been dead for like 80 years or something. They haven't aged. I'm not sure I like it if some age but others don't.

I think they're saying that whoever's bodies are still on the property (as in they did not receive a proper burial like Tate, the original couple, and the two guys would have) can age. The only two bodies on the property that we know of are Moira (the maid) and Thaddeus (in pieces in the basement?). Also Violet's and Hayden's, but they haven't been dead long enough to age. Not sure if this is really important to the story though, but an interesting thought. To that point, Constance's husband was killed on the property, and I know he was ground up and fed to the dogs, but does that mean he can't come haunt the place?

Also, I like the idea someone suggested that Ben is Constance's 4th child that was given up for adoption. Then they would technically both be her grandbabies!

-I'm thinking Constance sold her soul to the devil to either have a normal kid (Tate) or become famous. She's the only one who knows everything and has not been killed other than Dr. Harmon. (Or so we think. lol)

-What about this: Ben was Constance's 1st child, who was born in the house but given up for adoption by Constance. She then married and had 2 more who she considered imperfect. She sold her soul to the devil to have Tate, but he is obviously not perfect and may even be a demon. Her ultimate goal is to have Ben and his baby back in her life with no one else around? Idk... I love this show!!

I agree. I think trying to tie Ben to Constance is tenuous, at best. She's never mentioned giving any of her children away and I think she would have by now (but with this show, who knows).

One thing (among many) is still a mystery to me though: what's the deal with the closet at Constance's place with all the mirrors? The one she locked her daughter in in one of the early episodes and (in the previews for next week's episode) where she will have the crib and her "grandbaby" (still not sold on that one being Tate's/hers).

I've been thinking on what they psychic said and I think Thaddeus is the most successful attempt the evil has made toward entering the world. Tate was to be its next step by making him schizophrenic then taking over whatever personality was weakest. When Tate became a killing machine as a way to cope with an internal battle he didn't even know he was undergoing (and thus died), I think the evil realized that it needed to take over someone even younger (because of having only the barest of an id) thus the push (through Tate) to make a baby (as well as getting rid of the gay guys).

And here I am starting the thread off by agreeing that some of you may be overthinking things

Yes, and they explained that the ghosts can do that only on Halloween.

Understandable, there's a lot to remember in this show. Just imagine how crazy it could be if it lasts as long as LOST did?

I can't see them turning the entire cast around. Most likely in my mind is the same house with the same ghosts (+ tyhe Harmons), with a new family owning the home. There are still plenty of ghost stories to be fleshed out plus you would have new issues brought in by the new family.

Then it'll be like Beetlejuice, but with a lot of murder and no sandworms.

They need to move the show to a different house & cast. There's not much farther they can go & besides the baby(which should be resolved next episode) there's not much mystery/suspense left in the house. Only char i'll miss is Constance & hot maid

I don't even think next season should be about a haunted house. "Horror story" casts a large net.

do we have any proof from the writers that they will move this show to a new house or new theme next season?

I have enjoyed this show but I think the creators do take liberties. The viewers need to know what to trust in order to stay invested. Lange deserves any awards that come her way but so does Bratton. I think Vera's little sister will be showing up in some movies now.
