So, a thought I had on Thrawn saying he wanted to know everything about Ahsoka, "including her master". How cool would a convo between Ahsoka and Thrawn about Anakin/Vader be? Something like:

Thrawn: Your master must have died at the end of the Clone Wars. How did you not?

Ahsoka: My master was Anakin Skywalker, and he didn't die at the end of the Clone Wars.

Thrawn: Oh, you must be behind the times. A far worse fate befell Anakin. He became Darth Vader and unleashed terror upon the galaxy.

Ahsoka: No, it appears you are the one behind the times. Anakin redeemed himself and killed your Emperor.

Thrawn didn't seem terribly concerned about him, and seemed to have relatively good intelligence on the area he was in to give to Sabine. Sure, he wanted Ezra dead, but not enough to spend limited resources on it. Maybe picking up camp and moving every other day was enough to keep Thrawn at bay.

Sabine was intentionally hiding the truth of how she got there from Ezra. I'm curious to see his reaction when he finds everything out. Sabine needs to face some consequences for that.

Also, I'm curious to see Ezras strength in the forces he's had 7bor 10 years of solitude there. If he wanted to, he should have been able to develop a strong connection.

Well they covered Ezra being so close by indicating how they pack up and move around
Ezra sensing Wren was looking for him made it easier for her to find him and immediately was ready to pack up and move again
So he probably was never that close to begin with

I really liked the stormtroopers. They had a very Japanese feel. It looked liked they fixed their suits with gold which is called Kintsugi.

I doubt it will improve their aim.

What did y’all think of Lars Mikkelsen’s Thrawn portrayal?

Obviously voice wise it was perfect considering he is the voice of Thrawn and he’s a good actor. He came off a little underwhelming visually. In Rebels he was a fitness freak, constantly training. He looked like just an old guy last night. Maybe I should just attribute that to being stranded for a decade and I’m putting too much stock in his appearance.

I think they could have done a better job. My wife who is a casual fan was like, "This is the big bad dude?"

Yet to be determined. I thought it was ok. He did not have much screen time.

Ezra did not show much in his screentime, but he should be a pretty powerful Jedi at this point. It is obvious he was hunted by Thrawn for the time he has been missing.

i'm pretty sure all of those storm troopers are dead, and are being held together by the night sisters magic, like Marrok.

They are. In the closed captions they’re called “night troopers”.

i like his calm voice, looks alright i guess, but the actor has a big ole beer gut in that suit.
The Thrawn from Rebels looked to be in peak physical fitness shape. Not that i expect Thrawn to physically fight, but i also dont expect him to have a dad bod.

My hunch is Shin turns on Baylen

I agree.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that Ezra has turned away from the Force/being a Jedi and is content living a soy boy's life with the snail people, leaving Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera fighting Shin, the witches and Morgan Elsbth.

i could see that somewhat. I think he may have realized that he couldn't do much jedi stuff b/c the nightsisters would sense it, so he had to sort of be a hermit jedi not using the force this whole time.

can't get behind that. He's not one to sit back and watch, and those people are his family. He also seems very interested to hear what's been going on since he's been gone, and he's ready to get back. Unless he has unlocked something on this planet, something that Baylen is looking for, then i see no reason why he would want to stay there are why he'd be a different person than he was when he left. He's still at war.

Also, if you go back and look at the shape that Thrawns destroyer was in as the Purrgil took them into warp, whenever they got to Peridea, they are probably going ham just to simply survive to get to the surface of the planet. That gives Ezra plenty of time to escape. I would imagine it took Thrawns legion a long long time to repair that ship to get it to its current condition.

I would JIMP for that convo.
Thawn put on weight on Peridia.

Also we saw a ton of storm troopers. Where were the officers at? The regular navy personal who run the ship?

His helmet reminded me of the guy Maximus fought in the Roman coliseum in gladiator.

It definitely had some classical touches to it. Also the three great mothers having names that echo the names of the three Fates from Greek mythology. Add to that, Baylan and Shin's last names (Skoll and Hati) are taken from Norse mythology.

It was neat seeing the star destroyer with the "planetary" thrusters engaged and not the big main engines.

For those who have read Chuck Wendig's trilogy of books, isn't there a mention that Palpatine sensed something either in the unknown regions or outside of the galaxy that was super powerful. Could this be the same power that is calling to Baylan?

Yea, Baylan is the wolf that chases the Sun and Shin is the wolf that chases the moon.

I'm curious to see if we get any Loth Wolves since they can travel the World between Worlds. It looked like there were 3 wolves in one of the scenes of this last episode. They could have just been howlers that Sabine rode, not sure..I'd have to rewatch and pay closer attention.

I really feel like Bendu is the power that everyone is sensing. Would be neat to see another interaction between Thrawn and him.

I hope this isn't just an 8 episode show. They are doing a pretty jam up job on the storyline.

Because Rey is Female and the Force is Female

Daisy Ridley as Rey, like Hayden Christensen as Anakin before her, gets undue hate for something that’s not her fault. Rey had/has great potential as a character if the writing and story made sense and were allowed to breathe. Has nothing to do with her being female.

Ahsoka and Leia are female and two of the great characters in canon. Hera is fantastic, Sabine is intriguing, etc.

This is a long shot, but I think maybe he's searching for Bendu just not knowing that's who or what he is looking for?

I had this same thought. Or if not Bendu directly, then something like him.

My first thought when they got to the planet and they had those wolf creatures silhouetted on the cliff was those looked awfully like Loth Wolves. Do they have the same connection to the force? Does Ezra have the same connection to them and had them guide Sabine?

yea, I thought the same thing at first until they introduced the "howlers" which was the wolf/dog like creature Sabine rode on to find Ezra. The howler Sabine had showed from the start they had a good scent of Ezra or maybe it was just smelling the Noti (Hermit Crablike People)

Ezra joining the Noti...
