I hope it doesn’t happen so some SEC school hires him.

Completely opposite direction of what is expected but he is a huge upgrade over what they've had. It could be a homerun if they go all out hiring assistants to support Leach with recruiting and defense

I had forgotten Nebraska was briefly #1 that year. Did they jump over Miami when they struggled against Virginia Tech late in the year?

They ran a West Coast Offense with Callahan. They got Sam Keller to transfer in from ASU. That was part of reason they hired him, they thought the offense would be like the Raider Super Bowl offense.

Nebraska already tried experimenting with an air raid coach who didn't care about defense

His name was bill Callahan

You think there were issues with Nutt and Petrino? That clown would make that look like Pollyanna.

He must be great he throws the ball

Idc abourbhis sideline antics. I don't think he's ever done anything worse than what petrino did, and he won't he compared to nutt because he'll actually win

If you call never winning a division and losing to FCS teams regularly winning, okay.

is that really a big move up? why would leach go to nebraska? the narrative of nebraska being some great job is way out of line.

Uh, yeah but they still got into the title game.

I remember that game - and the announcers saying: "where the hell are Nebraska's linebackers??????

Colorado trucked up the middle, run after run like the parting of the Red Sea.

And then Oregon whipped Colorado in the Fiesta while Nebraska was getting arse-raped by Miami.

Leach would NOT FIT IN at Nebraska in any way, shape, or form.

I really wanna see Leach at A&M, or Auburn.

My initial reply was harsh and I'm sorry about that.

Bill Callahan was just an awful hire though. Good lord that dude had no clue.

in 2017? nebraska is only a big deal to people who pull for nebraska. great tradition, all-time top ten team.

just not a destination job anymore.

Did Alabama stop being a destination job before Saban? or USC before Carroll? Again the things you're saying sound like someone who just started watching college football last year

totally different recruiting grounds.

in the information age, everyone plays on tv now. wasn't always the case.

With Nebraska's new AD hired, the former AD at Washington State, the rumors are flying around that he might bring Leach with him if his ends up letting Riley go.

I heard he's bringing Bellotti back and the old crew.
