His receivers aren't as good as Carolina's receivers. Just not enough offensive talent around him.

Because the Seahawks can apply pressure with the front 4 and their lbs are athletic as hell.

There's also starting to be louder rumblings about benching Kapernick for Blaine Gabbert

He's really bad against teams that can apply pressure.

Because he's not very good.

I have been saying this since August. In fact, I have a "Bold Predictions" bet that Kaepernik gets replaced as the starter by Gabbert.

From August 18 bet confirmation e-mail:

quote:

Blaine Gabbert will start at least one regular season game in 2015; provided, however, that if Gabbert starts because Kaepernik is out due to injury, then the bet it a scratch, except that the bet is back on if such an injury does occur, but Gabbert continues to start after Kaepernik would otherwise be able to resume his normal duties as the starting quarterback.

He is now, yeah. But there was a time when he could dominate against teams like Green Bay, and there was a time he could win games by himself. He's ALWAYS looked bad against Seattle, though.

I just watched the video of him nailing the ball boy on the sideline. Yeah, he swindled the 49ers.

Mediocre QB + Stout defense = Bad matchup.

It's really not hard to understand.

He has a completion % around 30% when holding the ball for more than 2.6 seconds. It jumps to over 70% when getting the ball out on time. The pressure they cause, plus the skill of their secondary, spells disaster for him.

Pressure and good defenses makes him look horrid. He can't take his eyes off of his primary receiver and he doesn't go through progressions.

Replace stinky trash with even stinkier trash. That will surely end well .

I think the Packer D being a hot mess might have contributed to that.
