Peyton came out during an era where you would have been an idiot to even consider LSU if you were a blue chip.

Eli was not an elite prospect coming out of high school. I believe he was a consensus three star. I don't even think he was a top 20 QB in his recruiting class. Acting like he "snubbed" LSU is revisionist history. He was an Ole Miss lock because they hired Cutcliffe, not because he was a legacy.

Is that why the only player rated higher than him in the country signed an LOI with LSU that year?

true...

"Performed well at Manning Passing Academy" is about as useful for determining the future as are offseason weightlifting metrics.

Yeah. When the main person relaying info from the camp is Chris Mortensen, I think it's only logical to question the integrity of the information.

I played quarterback and later receiver in high school and was always told to go to MPA not because I'd learn a lot but because the experience was awesome and you get to meet a ton of famous people

Never went though

He was a consensus top 3 QB in that class.

Yes it is. My youngest son, 8th grader, went to the camp for the first time this year as well.

They are the most elite quarterback family in history- of course it's a good experience. It's like getting a music lesson from the Haydn family. Even if you aren't going to be a professional musician, it would still be an unbelievable experience

I never dealt with them personally but the stories I've heard make them seem like douche bags (especially Archie).

False. Eli, Brock Berlin, and JP Losman were the top three prospects at their position when they came out.

I know someone who throws them a party at his house every year at the end of the camp. A family member attended once, saw Archie in a subway a couple years later and Archie remembered him and struck up a conversation with him.

Eli was pretty notorious for being a giant dbag, especially at Ole Miss. Granted, he lived the dream so a lot of that may be jealousy. I will say I know a lot of people from New Orleans and Ole Miss who had poor interactions with him in his younger years.

As a football coach who sends kids to the MPA, and as someone who attended as a camper years ago when Eli himself was among the "students" I'll say this: it's a great experience, a ton of fun, pretty awesome to be around great talents like that, and there are a lot better camps for teaching the QB position

It is a great showcase camp for recruiting prospects, and a lot of fun. But we never really look at it as a way to hone our craft. They just don't do a great job of that IMO. But, our kids have a great time, and when we have someone that has a legit shot at playing college ball, the MPA is a must hit

Next summer is a big one for my group
