He was a beast.

Jim Brown would be good in any era, today we call him Adrian Peterson
i was all set to post something about how peterson fumbles a bunch and brown didn't. but i looked it up:
JB: 57 fumbles in 118 games and 2359 carries + 262 rec -- 46 touches / fumble
AD: 20 fumbles in 46 games and 915 carries + 83 receptions -- 50 touches / fumble

Experts pick Jim Brown as the best running back just like film critics call Citizen Kane the greatest film of all time. A Generation from now both will be forgotten.
What a fricking fool. Ever hear of Babe Ruth? Motzart ?Shakespeare? Greatness always lives on. Barry Sanders is much more likely to be forgotten or he will be like a Stan Musial. Someone fans who know and care about history will remember, but others will not.
As for Citizen Kane, as long as there are film schools, they will study Citizen Kane. To discuss the movies importance would probably be a waste of my time on you, so go back and watch Transformers 2.

I just meant size and running style.

Except even bigger and without the fumbles.

Im not sure how to squeeze 6 MVPs out of 2 championships.
If you combine all of them it's 9 MVPs and 3 championships. So it is really not that far fetched.

Seems like apples and oranges to me.
Brown was the best apple. Sanders the best orange (no Okla St. pun intended).

FACT???? NO. Do some homework.
"Several years after retirement, and repeated refusals to discuss the abruptness of it, Sanders finally admitted that the culture of losing in the Lions' organization was too much to deal with even though he said that he could still play. He explained that it robbed him of his competitive spirit, and he saw no reason to believe things were going to improve. He also stated that there were tears in his eyes as the Lions lost the final game of his career the season before he left, because he knew in his heart he was never going to play another NFL game - 'I sobbed for 3 months.'"
Pretty it up as much as you like, but he quit because he was tired of losing...

Jim Brown is not only the greatest RB of all-time, he's also the greatest FB player of all-time.
Among running backs it's 1) Jim Brown 2) Barry Sanders/OJ Simpson (I never can decide)

Babe Ruth is no where close to the greatest Baseball player, Citizen Kane is hardly the greatest film ever, And it is common knowledge that Shakespeare has been given credit for plays that he didn't even write himself. Just like these two, Brown and Sanders were some of the greatest players of football. When the generation of today have grown into tomorrows sports writers Tom Brady, Payton Manning, Brett Favre, Adrien Peterson, Drew Brees, Ladanian Tomlinson, etc will be heralded as some of the greatest players ever. Sanders and Brown will be a distant memory. I don't like it,but it is the nature of the beast

Fact is, however, that we're not just one generation removed from Jim Brown's time. We're 2, 3, or even 4 generations removed from Jim Brown's era and, guess what, it's still the general consensus that he's the greatest running back and it is the majority view that he is the greatest football player that ever put on shoulder pads.

You're right. The Lions actually had some very good offensive linemen in the mid to late '90s with Lomas Brown, Kevin Glover and Jeff Hartings among others.
