huge bandwagon fan base though...and a huge chunk of their fan base has no connection to western pa, nw wv or eastern ohio
Yeah, sounds like the old Cowboys...pretty much seals it definition-wise for the Steelers.

thing is the people from western pa can't stand the fans with no yinzer connection, used to see steelers fans get into at the bar when they found out some steelers fan was from like NJ or NC

I can imagine that's true.
Probably how Boston locals feel about everyone and their grandmother jumping on the Red Sox after 2004.
Which is why having the "America's Team" moniker is probably code for half your fanbase is made up bandwagon douchebags.

thats florida in general tho. Watching the skins game in tampa was basically a skins home game.
not on the same level though...don't get me wrong there are plenty fans of all teams from the atlantic coast here...but its not even remotely close to the Steelers. Even in south FL where you would think its Jets/Giants/Pats the Steelers fans are just as plentiful. North Carolina seemed to be just as many Steelers fans as Panthers when I lived there as well. It's crazy.

b/c people from the NE move down there. Not just the steelers have a huge base, like you said jets/gmen/pats throw the eagles skins and browns in there too. Just more steelers fans b/c people jump on the wagon pre big ben it was nothing like this and i was living in steeler country back then.

I wasn't in Charlotte though. It was in all sports bars in the triangle area. Steelers own that damn state too. They really are the fricking plague.
but that's what I mean. Aren't they NOW "America's team"
They've had 2 seperate generations of dominance (about 25-30 years apart with a SB visit against GB a little more than halfway through). That's getting multiple generations of bandwagoners and reinforcing the kids of the first generation's fandom.

Skins country bro, they take over when they play the panthers too.
Thats why expansion is places like Jville and NC where a bad idea well established fan bases where already there

The moral victories Cowboys fans are coming up with are astounding... hey our team is in complete disarray, but everyone hates us, so they are jealous of us!
point me to where someone is saying this.

West Palm Beach
You do realize the Rooneys own a bunch of shite in Palm Beach County and have 2 members of congress down here. They wield a heavy influence in South Florida. That's why there is a Steelers presence in Palm Beach County.

Dallas is only noticed still because the media continues hyping them, so people hate them and watch, which means more ratings so the media hypes them and it goes in a circle.
The cowboys remind me of obama - all hype, no results.

Pretty embarrassing that I heard clear as day "Lets go Bears" chants in Jerry World.
With that said. Who is America's team now? Patriots? Giants?
Packers. They have a LARGE fan base considering the pop. size of Green Bay/Wisconsin.

Def one of these.

It's the Packers. they have the entire generation of kids born in the 60s. Tons of fans, almost none with any connection to Green Bay. They get all of the fans who want to time machine back to 1950s Pleasantville.
Though our local bar is packed with Bills fans, which I can't figure at all.

I still think it is the Cowboys whether you like it or not. I think the next tier is:
Packers
Patriots
Steelers
Tier after them is:
Giants
Redskins
Raiders
Packers
Patriots
Steelers

Giants
Redskins
Raiders

which is a credit to skins fans b/c we have sucked for 20 years but if start winning with Rg3 and make the post season on a regular basis we will get a shite ton of bandwagon fans.
