Grand Canyon would have had a good shot at a NCAA bid in the Conference of Misfit Toys (WAC) if they were eligible for it.

The WAC was really bad this year. I think they tied for the regular season title. Had a pretty decent team.

what the frick has happened to the WAC.... what was once a respectable mid-major conference is now home to schools that i never knew existed.
cal state bakersfield and grand canyon university legitimately sound like d3 schools.

It's the most random collection of schools ever. I'm surprised they can afford to spend so much on travel. Chicago State is broke as hell and they're flying out to Seattle and California to get slaughtered? Makes no sense.

Grand Canyon is the only for-profit school in DI athletics. They actually pay to have their games televised nationally by Cox or someone.

Rumored that Nebraska, Penn State, Kansas State, and Northwestern have all said they will not play in the postseason. Along with LSU, there arent many teams remaining.
Power 5 teams:
ACC:
Clemson
NC State
Wake Forest
BC
Big 12:
Oklahoma State (expected to fire coach)
TCU (fired coach)
Big 10:
Illinois
Minnesota
Rutgers (fired coach)
Pac 12:
Stanford
UCLA
Arizona State
Washington State
SEC:
Arkansas
MSU
Tennessee
Auburn
Mizzou
A tourney with Boise, Clemson, NC State, Illinois, Stanford, UCLA, ASU, Arkansas, MSU, UT, and then probably some random non p5 teams wouldnt be bad
eta: NC State wont be participating in any tourneys as well.

I read something last night where they said they would be targeting teams with winning records
With all these teams opting out of the postseason, they sound pretty screwed.

Supposed Va Tech was weighing the Vegas 16 since it would have given the young team a guaranteed two more weeks of practice vs the NIT.
I think if we would not have gotten a home game, we would have tried to go there.

I bet Bama took LSU's spot
No. Bama was getting a NIT spot regardless of what LSU did.

@BGMull: Hearing that the Vegas 16 Tournament is in big trouble. As in, might be cancelled. Seems about right.
Yeah, seemed sketchy when you saw P5 teams saying they would not play below the NIT. Each school needs to pay 50K for the V16, and I doubt they could find that many to do it.
They might be able to find 8.

VEGAS 16 Tournament bracket released. Only 8 teams.

Welp, this thing is a failure. Doubt it's back next year.
