Babers/Dykes/Morris (depending on what else is out there and how SMU does this year) are three very good bets among current HCs. There will be other guys who will impress this year as well and rise to the top who we aren't as familiar with yet

If you want to go to coordinators:
Lincoln Riley
Doug Meacham

No big name will take this job at this point. It will probably be an interim for the year.

They will be hiring someone after next season similar to Arkansas a few years ago I'm sure

If no NCAA sanctions come

They will. That place is getting burnt to the ground. Read the report!

quote:

Baylor’s efforts to implement Title IX were slow, ad hoc, and hindered by a lack of institutional support and engagement by senior leadership.

quote:

Institutional failures at every level of Baylor’s administration directly impacted the response to individual cases and the Baylor community as a whole

quote:

The football program failed to identify and maintain controls over known risks, and unreasonably accepted known risks. Leadership in football and the athletics department did not set the tone, establish a policy or practice for reporting and documenting significant misconduct. The lack of reporting expectations resulted in a lack of accountability for player misconduct and employee misconduct.

quote:

Baylor did not adhere to a consistent protocol regarding transfers and importantly, Baylor did not consistently follow previously implemented processes regarding criminal background checks, request for records of any prior college disciplinary actions, and character reference screening forms.

The NCAA is going to bust them up for this because it is clear evidence of lack of institutional control, because they reduced a tennis player's scholarship as retribution for filing a report, and because their efforts to intimidate victims gave them a competitive advantage by allowing them to continue playing criminals who would have been in jail or off the team at other schools.

No good coach is going to want to deal with the sanctions and after the out-transfer of players and after having to boot off Briles' miscreants, there actually won't be that much talent left. They're going back to Guy Morriss Land.

He shouldn't even take their calls.

He can get a much better job than Baylor.

Same goes for Chad Morris.

Yeah if there are major sanctions my opinion obviously changes, but it's impossible to predict what the NCAA will do at this point. If there are not major sanctions Baylor's success will be dependent on the quality of coach they hire after 2016, like most every other school that goes through a coaching change

There will be the talent in place to run a successful spread offense though and lots of good young coaches who know the spread available who know that talent

Singletary is the first call I make to bring back the "right way" image.

Chad Morris.

Wont leave SMU for that, nor should he get the call to as he has not proven anything yet.

Singletary would be a good hire PR wise but not sure coaching wise. Still it should be seriously considered.

This hire really is not about football. It is about doing things without question and above reproach.

No kidding. Herman would be a pipe-dream for A&M. He is not going to even listen to Baylor. He'll be taking over for the Midget in Austin next year.
