Duran as a lightweight was an absolute monster.
To beat Mayweather you need someone with great boxing skills and solid athletic ability. A rare combo but we have had them in the past.

Duran was a beast as a lightweight. I'd favor him over anyone at 135.
And lightweight wasn't even Mayweather's best weight. He was at his best when he was starting out at 130 lbs. He had very good power for a super featherweight along with the godly defensive skills and reflexes. At 130 lbs, Mayweather really does have a very good claim of being TBE. Nobody in history beats him at that weight.

Yall need to let it go. I know hate sways opinions. Floyd Mayweather is the most skilled and technically sound fighter of all time. The only reason their is argument against him being TBE is because of his resume.

The resume that shows he never beat a great fighter in that fighter's prime?

Those same prime fighters that ducked Floyd because he was more risk than reward before he became a PPV cash cow. A lot of selective memory going around. A prime Mosley said he had a loose tooth so he couldn't fight Floyd.

Larry Merchant, if he was 50 years younger

I'm about to drop to 145 just so I can run away from him and clinch when I'm backed in the corner. When clinched up, I'll whisper in his ear about how he is the biggest pussy boxing has ever seen.

Canelo? He's in his prime?
Cotto? He's in his best point of his career at the proper weight ( not drained like when fought Cotto)
Castillo was in his prime
Corrales was in his prime
Ppl will always find faults with floyds opponent because his superior boxing skills makes them look amateurish.

Freddie Roach has said that their side messed up the first negotiations. Sooooooo.
