Fisher hates media hype, and in TN he had a mid-market sanctuary. Even with guys like Pac and Vince, he could still kind of hide from the national spotlight. If they choose the Rams, I think he'd deal with it fine but dread the experience.

I think the Jets QB battle could be interesting.

But probably Browns

If rams decline then that means they are ashamed of Sam and hate all gay people

The Browns have a new coach, which automatically disqualifies them from Hard Knocks.

The other automatic disqualifications include making the playoffs within the previous two seasons and having been on the show within the last decade.

Bengals definitely did it twice within a decade

He's talking about being compelled by the league to be on the show.

A team like the Bengals can do the show a second time or third time if they wish and HBO doesn't have a better candidate out of the volunteers and the teams who can be forced to participate.

Well they don't really just choose a team. That team has to allow it and agree to it. And most of the teams turn them down. Which is why there has been a couple of repeat teams.

I don't think Fischer will agree to do it.

Yeah, I'm cornfused on how it's determined-or how much it's a case of leverage with the owner & GM. I just remember Fisher talking about this specifically when he was here and dismissing the idea altogether.

Its cool man

But yea the HBO and Hard Knocks people contact a few teams that they would be interested in filming for Hard Knocks. Majority of the teams say no, but there are a few teams that are trying to grow their brand and all that and tell them they would be interested in doing it.

Its not just up to HBO, its up to the team as well. And thats why I think the Browns would do it this year with Manziel. They are trying to become more popular and have a polarizing figure in Manziel. Plus, they are a team trying to break through and already have a godo D. They might do it. Plus, Mike Pettine (new HC) was already on Hard Knocks with the Jets so he knows how it would go and all that.

Fisher was apparently lobbying for Goodell not to tell the Rams to do it. If hard knocks can't choose the Clippers for obvious reasons, they will choose the Rams.

The Vikings would make for a good candidate. New coach and QB.

Wait... Since when can't teams decline??

Edit: just looked at rule. Teams can still decline. But if no team says they want to do it or will do it, then the league picks a team and they have to do it.
