False start, holding call, turnover...

Ever seen a field goal missed, snap bobbled (Romo)...

Take the points when you get them.

Chewing the clock when losing is more risky than protecting a lead on defense with 1 minute.

You score when you can

I know it Does happen but it doesn't happen nearly as often as giving a good offense 1:20 to score a TD.

You're arguing against your point it seems.

Those things are obvious way more rare than a team going on a scoring drive in 1:20.

FSU had a penalty and scored on the next play. I don't think you guys realize how often teams score in the final 2 minutes of a game Packers 49ers for another reference from this week

And what about the PAT? How many fewer seconds on the clock would say means definitely do not attempt it? I think 13 was pretty close.

How about you get your defense to tackle on a 5 yard curl route so they dont get 3/4ths of the yardage they need in 6 seconds?

Lets be honest. Do you have more faith in your defense stopping a first and 1 to go or your offense scoring in 1:20. Im telling you you want to take that knee and put the points on the board later. There's no rush.

Yes I'd like my defense to make stops but when im in a prevent i haven't been in all game and im giving a hot offense 4 plays to get 10 yards I have to realize theres a very good chance they move the ball and get in scoring position.

Im saying i trust my RB to not fumble and get a TD from a yard out than I do my defense to not screw up once in 10 plays

Oh also if I score first as you suggest remember me giving up a touchdown means i lose the game. If i settle for a chip shot fg at worse were going to. OT

I'd like to know how many drives FSU got tds on vs how many hey didnt. Also I'd be curious how often any college team scores a TD in under 1:20 ( then I'd adjust upwards since FSU is a very good offense. )

Then I'd like to know how often a college team has 1st and goal from the 1 and doesn't score

Yea but youre talking about playing for the tie.

you play for the win and trust/hope your D can keep them out of the end zone. If they score, they score. But you dont play to send the game in OT. Its not like its guaranteed youll win in OT anyways.

What happens if you are inside the 10, dont score a TD or even attempt to get in the end zone, tick the clock down for a minute, kick the FG to force OT, then in OT you lose? You get fired. You dont play to tie and send it to OT. Especially against Winston and FSU.

And also, FSU had 2 timeouts too. They can stop the clock while you kneel on it. So you do what you said, kneel the ball and then FSU calls 2 timeouts and gets it back with 45 seconds instead of 1:18. All they need is a FG to win.

So, you're not playing to win, you're playing to save your job?

Im not taking a fricking knee 3 plays in a row and kicking. Im running the clock down at the 1 yard line if FSU stops me i have a decision to make on 4th and 1 with no time on the clock instead of watching the same qb that has been hot all second half carve me up

FSU would just start taking TO. Then they would only need a fg to win with the best kicker in college FB... Great strategy.

I would say the coach with his head up his arse is the one who could have iced the game but instead gives the hot offense the ball back and then expects a different outcome

If FSU takes a to its 1st and 1 and they have one left. If they let me score (the smart thing to do i take a knee on the 1 inch line and make them burn their last TO. Now it's second and an inch and FSU has 0 time outs
