didnt have to play college

ETA: if you really think that (i hope not), then the not many people are raving about the single greatest sports feat in history, that came and went pretty fast

Deserves mentioned is the 1980 Miracle on Ice Hockey team. They could have lost 100 straight to that Soviet team. We had zero chance to win that game.

I'd put the Pistols PPG average ahead of Wilts 100 point game.

This

Averaging 44 points per game for a college career is number 1 on my list of records that will never be broken,

ETA: and he had no 3 point line!

This is the first thing that popped into my head when I read the op. But I find it hard to believe anyone having the same birth defect that Pistol had would ever have made it to the professional level of any sport except golf if that is even consider a sport with all the strenuous walking and whatnot.

Vitali Klitschko. He's never been down on the cards at any point in any of his 47 pro fights

Right, cause who cares if you can do more than just running fast... Running, jumping, and shooting a ball through a hoop is so much easier...

Do you sit at your computer and go thru threads while googling the most random stat you can post in said thread? Its like youre trying really hard for people to respond to it and argue

Edwin Moses 122 race win streak is pretty iompressive. The guy did not lose a race for almost 10 years.

Not saying its the greatest, but in terms of things that have never happened...

The Auburn FG Return for TD to win the game is pretty damn awesome

ETA: Oscar Pistorious making the olympics on the relay team with no legs from the knee down is impressive from a medical/disadvantage standpoint

Lance turned out to be a Borg-level douchebag, but still outdid the rest of the world's best cycling chemists in maybe the most grueling human event...seven times. It's shameful he made it cringe-worthy to recognize, but I don't think that was a fluke.

...but my first thought was Tiger cut streak. The first tourney it was in jeopardy , he sunk an unreal putt on 18 I'll never forget.

Damn this thread was a fun read. Tons of wrongness, but great contribution.

Competiotion HAS to be considered. Tiger's win streak is more impressive than the record. Averaging 50 points for a season back in the day would be pie for a few guys playing right now.

I think Gretzky's assist stat is the greatest feat in sports history.

I thought I was going to be the first to mention it on page 5. This is the most impressive record in modern sports. It's an incomprehensible record.
