That’s simply not true. Guys trained in grappling sports will frick up a bigger guy who’s untrained no matter how big or strong he is.

Horse shite. When weight differences as close as 10lbs appear, they can struggle. Start talking 100lbs or more, and it’s just wishful thinking… assuming the person has a modicum of fitness.

My kids did BJJ and there’s a reason they match up by weight/ size. Length matters, too.

I think people are imagining comic book neck beard types and not pipe fitters.

A big dude with some muscle mass versus them, probably not gonna happen. It’s like when the World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw who is 6’7”/400 pounds but no MMA training rolled with Dustin Poirer, obviously Brian got tapped but he said he never felt that he couldn’t just sling Dustin around like a rag doll if it was a shite hit the fan situation.
in a shite hit the fan situation Dustin would just make Shaw chase him and after a minute or 2 Shaw would be dead tired and helpless

it matters when both people actually know what they are doing

I like when people say the 175 avg male would just grab Rousey and overpower her.

With no skills and knowing the avg male has no athleticism, she's going to punch him right in the nose, and again, the avg male has never been punched in the nose. He won't want to even try again after that.

Then like you mentioned, the unathletic avg male will get tired very quickly.

It just wouldn't go well for the avg untrained male, because the avg male has never been in a fight nor does he have much athleticism.

This is spot on, this can also apply to age. I’ve been tapped plenty of times by brown belts who are 15-20 years younger than me but a brown belt who is closer to my age and weight (I’m a purple belt) I can do a lot more and I’m more competitive. My reaction and speed and decision make are a lot faster when someone has more experience and are in their physical prime

Why does Shaw need to chase him?

More than likely rousey would do a judo throw or a trip and get the fight to the ground. Even if the average guy gets on top she would be in good position to triangle or flip the position.

Absolutely. We also say for every 10 years you give up a color belt too. A 20 year old White Belt that lets just say is a decent athlete or former wrestler (ton of those now) and I am also gonna say minimum 3 stripe so he at least has a clue what the frick he is doing would give me a hard time just from the physical aspect if we went balls out on a roll after I have had a full class or rolled a bunch previous and I am a 52 yo Brown Belt. Sure I will get him 99% of the time just because I am more technical than him but that 1% is where age and reflexes might leave me exposed and he can get me.

That really wasn't where I was going with using that example because the OP didn't say a woman could just outrun a male, I am pretty sure it was if they actually engaged. Let's be honest, Brian would destroy Dustin and it wouldn't even be fair. Size does matter lol. Also, Brian pulls firetrucks for long distances and throws 10-20 kegs over rails way up in the air like they are paper plates so I think he might have the cardio to be un-helpless past 2 minutes.

Dustin would stay on the outside and destroy that dudes leg with kicks. That guy would even touch dustin.

I love the WNBA threads. Man, I went to St. Paul's in Covington, LA (pretty big, well-funded school) and the Atlanta Dream would have smoked the teams we had. Like a 120-14 boat race.

Can we not argue about Rousey and bring attention to this.

You are absolutely lying, name them

Strongman is awesome and they find ways to be efficient but actually using his reflexes is a different animal altogether. Shaw chases Dustin and reacts to a few faints and knee taps he will be dead tired and helpless

Do you understand what the word “untrained” means? Yes, weight classes exist in grappling sports but both people are trained in the martial art. And even then, some of the more elite fighters can beat anyone regardless of weight - it’s why BJJ has open classes at their event.

So I go back to my original point, a person who is trained in a grappling sport will more likely than not completely frick up a person of larger size who is not.

This for sure. If you don’t knock her out good luck because someone like Rousey is going to out last you and you’re going to gas and be in very deep shite. You will be completely helpless

OK, take this convo to a MMA, or BJJ message board and let me know how this conversation goes.

99% of us in here are dads talking shite. Go to a board where 99% people of the people do Martial Arts

KBeezy is on here. He would be the utmost authority on this. He fought professionally for years. Hopefully he chimes in.

His opinion doesnt change the fact that most women would get smashed. Is there a portion of women who can beat up men? Of course there is but its very small. Can an elite female fighter beat up a fat unathletic dork? Of course they can.

But, can Rhonda Rousey beat up a pro wrestler. frick no. Can the average crossfit ho that maybe took some BJJ classes beat up a man? Only if he is a little bitch. Can women who train MMA beat up a 200 pound male athlete? No.

Amanda Nunes vs Harold Perkins? She dies.

Stop thinking women are physically equivalent to men. Yall are watching too much disney.
