Rhonda rousey is 37 now doesn’t she have a kid or two also? She’s no longer ‘peak’ why is this still a topic? This is like a 2000s thread?

You know why there’s not much video of Rhonda officially fighting men? Because if she did She’d get her arse kicked.

The average American male is 5-9. Not a significant size advantage over a female MMA fighter. He's also a lardass, so she has athleticism and tactical training on her side.

Big difference compared to an actual male athlete.

That bitch Rhonda cant take a punch from women. If she got hit at 50% power by those WWE guys then its lights out for her.

I dont know how many small guys they have on the roster. But even with her strong judo and bjj, most of those guys would be able to defend her shite Derrick Lewis style. Wrestlers are strong as frick.

As for the average guy, well the average guy is fat as frick and has no conditioning. But any baw that is really strong in the upper body will give her trouble. Her fave move is the arm bar and men have much more upper body strength than women. She isnt gonna be able to grab a plumber and just start cranking his arm.

In conclusion, Bradley Martin would destroy Rhonda.

What did she fight at, 135#? You realize that a 135# male is much stronger and more powerful than a 135# female, right? A 175# male would kill her.

What's the obsession with guys comparing women athletes to men all the time? Ronda offended you by talking shite about your WWE heroes? Does this keep you up at night?
People who constantly bang on about women sports and not as good as men come off as insecure Betas.

Rogan talks about this all the time. BJJ is an equalizer in a controlled environment, with rules and structure. He says it's humbling to white belts, who start rolling and get tapped by a smaller girl or a young kid.

In a normal fight none of that is applicable. Rousey wasn't good against BJJ and during her time, most of the women fighters were not as well trained as they are now. Holly Holmes was a kick boxer; she knew just how to fight against Rousey. In a controlled environment like MMA, same weight classes, rules, etc. Skill level makes a world of difference. That is why Amanda was so dominant, she had more skill. Rousey wasn't knocking anyone out. She didn't have to, not her skill set. However, there is a reason no premier fighters are coming from Judo, it doesn't work against other skills in MMA. If it did everyone would be learning it. This is purely academic. Rousey probably would not be dominant against most top females today. Look at Valentina, she has skills that Rhonda couldn't touch, and she just lost. When Rhonda started, most females just had to want to get hit and some basic skill. That doesn't work today.

so i think rousey is a bad example to see if a woman's UFC fighter could beat the average male. she is far past her prime and while she ushered in female mma being a draw, she isn't one of the best ever. she's just a name

but let's say amanda nunes. She is the current champion at 145 lbs. but that's not her walking around weight.

before cutting, her weight sits around 170 lbs.

I'm 195 lbs and in decent shape, but i'm not trained in combat sports. i'm 37 and haven't been in a fight since college, but was in a few bar scraps then and knew how to handle myself okay.

but amanda nunes would kick my arse. i wouldn't stand a chance.

I’ll put it this way, I’m a Brazilian jiu jitsu purple belt, I probably have another 4/5 years until I receive my black belt. Belt structure is white, blue, purple, brown and black

Just grappling alone I wouldn’t be able to beat someone such as Ronda rousey or Kayla Harrison, they would know every tactic I would attempt due to the knowledge they’ve acquired. They’re Olympic champions, so they’re already 2-3 steps ahead of me regardless of what I try to do

Any guy who’s drunk wrestled with his boys can tell you the difference between an average male and a 230 lb athletic male that’s spent his fair share of time in a squat rack.

That’s simply not true. Guys trained in grappling sports will frick up a bigger guy who’s untrained no matter how big or strong he is.

As for the question in the OP, a man trained in grappling sports - let’s just say above average HS level - should be able to handle to female MMA athlete in most cases.

The biggest hurdle for untrained men is the fighting - especially when it gets to the ground - is completely non-instinctual. All your basic instincts will get you demolished in a wrestling/BJJ/MMA fight. So in order to have any success, you would have to have enough training to drill those instincts out of you.

That’s where you’re not fully correct

Judo is a form of grappling, plenty of sambo guys (Khabib and Islam) use sambo, it’s a mix of wrestling and judo. Islam has used uchi mata’s along with various judo and wrestling takedowns. Fedor is also a product in sambo

Yea I'm calling BS on this one.

hat's the male equivalent of female MMA? Would a solid high school wrestler just take them down?

Elite men easily beats elite women. Every single time, no contest. Average Joe men are likely to get embarrassed against elite women. So it really depends on what do you mean by solid. I've seen girls beat boys at the high school level that were within the same weight class.

I'm reading Rousey talking shite about lots of guys in WWE. Talking like she could frick them up

WWE? You mean the sport that is completely staged and planned? Of course she's going to talk shite, that's what you're supposed to do as professional wrestler. You don't think this is the first time a professional wrestler has lied do you?

Your opinion is not rooted in reality. The average gym girl cannot beat 10% of men, much less the average man.

You do realize there is a big arse difference between Ronda Rousey and the average gym girl. Just like there is a big arse difference between Jon Jones and the average gym guy.

Rousey was exposed as being a one trick pony with a glass jaw. A 225 pound WWE wrestler could simply just overpower her. Just throw themselves on top of her and physically overwhelm her. You people sound like the ESPN morons that during all the Rousey hype (before she was savagely beaten like a dog by Holm) were asking if she could beat Floyd Mayweather or Connor McGregor in a fight
