You do realize there is a big arse difference between Ronda Rousey and the average gym girl.

And there is a huge difference between Rousey and a WWE male wrestler

The Rousey fanboys were as comical as the Bruce Lee cultists.

Stop

Some folks have to take everything too far. A WNBA team would be an AVERAGE 8th grade boys team by any score the WNBA team wanted. Stop doing this lol.

This is laughable. The average 175# male with just a modicum of physical ability would kill her so fast she would be shocked
Some of you vastly, vastly overrated the fighting skills of the average male.

The average male has no fricking clue how to fight, how do people not realize that?

Hell, I'd bet the average male has never been in a fight in his adult life.

Oh hey. It’s another thread about women’s basketball players.

No offense, but this is one of the worst takes on this website.

Seriously, there's no chance that dude has ever watched 8th grade basketball and has that take. Just none.

The WNBA team could beat, again, AVERAGE 8th grade boys essentially by any score they wanted.

I have boys in that age range playing middle school basketball. There are some kids that will blow your mind with how good they are and tall they are at that age...those kids are very rare to find. The average kid is probably something like 5'6 and weights 120lbs or probably a bit less to be honest, and is infinitely inferior to the best women's basketball players in the world.

I'd agree with this but sometimes size and brute strength can come into play. Speaking of not knowing how to fight - did you happen to see what happened to Rousey when she had to actually stand up and fight against Holm and Nunes? She didn't even last 1 minute in one of them (Nunes) and was completely dismantled in the other (Holm)

Sure if someone just lays on the ground and lets Rousey grab a limb I'm sure she would do ok vs some men but others? She'd get absolutely overpowered and wrecked no matter the 'skill'.

We've done this thread a few times. I think on speed and technique, Rousey would beat most regular baws on this site. Now, bigger dudes who played D1 football or wrestling, naw.

And I don't think the average male has that level of size and brute strength, not the average male.

If we're talking peak Rousey at her absolute strongest, sure she may not be as strong as the average male, but it's not as big of a gap as many would think I'd bet.

Think about those fights you se on Twitter with the dude being completely clueless. THAT is the average male.

Well, I don't think the average male would easily murder them 2 either

Doubtful by the average male, who is clueless and not nearly as strong as some may think.

If you are the average sized male, you likely need at least 1 of 2 things:

- Any bit of MMA type training
- Any bit of decent athleticism

If you don't have 1 of those 2 things, and the average male does not, I don't like your chances.

If you have either 1 of those, you likely have no issues with a Rousey type, much smaller but best ish in the world type woman fighter.

I think people take that story about the USWNT losing to the 15u team and just run with it to the extreme. What they forget is that the 15u team are the elite of the elite for 15 year olds in the United States. They are not just your random run of the mill soccer team from Bumfrick Middle school or Bumfrick Highschool. If that 15u team were to play a team of random 15 year olds from your local middle/high school, the score would be something like 10-0 at halftime.

Bingo

I saw a 7th grade boy this year that was probably 6'2 and had the smoothest jumper I've ever seen. Sure, put a team of those kids together, you got something to work with. But the average 13 year old kids are fricking tiny and have meh basketball skills and would alll be giving up 50-100lbs on WNBA girls. They would not be faster, they would not be able to jump higher, they would be infinitely worse at outside shooting, decision making...and so on and so forth..

We have a rule of thumb in jiu jitsu that for every 20 pounds of body weight you can add one color belt so lets say a 200 pound Blue Belt is rolling with a 180 pound Purple Belt then using that analogy they would be the same. Not really sure that is an apples and apples comparison for a male versus female scenario but I would think one of our legit Browns/Black Belt females would have their way with an untrained dude at the same weight level.

A big dude with some muscle mass versus them, probably not gonna happen. It’s like when the World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw who is 6’7”/400 pounds but no MMA training rolled with Dustin Poirer, obviously Brian got tapped but he said he never felt that he couldn’t just sling Dustin around like a rag doll if it was a shite hit the fan situation.

MMA is a sport and most people have never had a real fight in their life. Ronda Rousey in her prime would not break a sweat.

The analogy is not LSU women's basketball it's a dude who has never swung a tennis racket playing Tennis against Coco Gauff
