A few years ago they looked like a program on the rise back to prominence. They have been in decline every year, and now they look like a bunch of pussies.

It's just a matter of bringing in a good coach. Haden was an epic disaster, so it's gonna take some time to recover from his regime. Helton will be canned after next year.

Institutional arrogance. Hubris is the only thing that ruined it. There's a fight for the soul of that program. The "frick you. We're USC. We don't compromise because HOLLYWOOD" crowd had control of the program for too long and they're paying for it.

They really need to pull an Ole Miss and buy a great ranking class + go after an up & coming coach that can do the X's O's of a game.

Given where USC is today, who says no first, Kiffin or USC?

They've been living on rep since Pete's last year.

I don't understand how USC got basically the modern day death sentence and we still have Penn State and UNC are strutting around

Clay Helton looks like a guy that just wondered into the stadium off the street. I have serious doubts he has any understanding of how to be a head coach.

An incestuous, arrogant administration who thought they could hire anyone as long as they understood USC because USC just being itself would be enough to win. After the Sark debacle, the president decided he didn't want someone who would rock the boat and threaten the massive fundraising and academic improvement the universities is currently undertaking, so he settled for a nice guy who is unqualified to be a DIII coach.

Now we're fricked for a decade because recruiting is cratering as well, which at least Kiffin and Sark kept afloat through the sanctions. Without Kiffin's recruiting, USC would be even more fricked than they are now.

Basically, USC became Miami

Kiffin saved USC. He had to go, but without his recruiting strategy during the sanctions, we'd be even more fricked.

It'd be one of the craziest stories in CFB if a Saban improved Kiffin returned to USC and brought them back to the top.

Ed Orgeron's USC voodoo doll, for not rewarding him after saving the season and being carried off the field by the players.
