I mean I know the rules changed to mostly get rid of them, but why?

Because ties suck. Each game should have a winner and a loser.

Exactly. You would think with super long games and bigger conferences ties would be wanted.

Michigan went 9-0-3 one year. I didn't know WTF to think about that season.

I would rather a tie than college FB's overtime rules.

You could always have a lightning delay/cancellation with the game tied late and the result stands.

Try the OT rules got rid of ties completely. COMPLETELY!

There is no mostly about it.

You play until there is a winner unless there's some lightening storms or some shite.

By the way, the last tie was...

Wisconsin 3, Illinois 3 on Nov. 25, 1995.

A game Les Miles must've have recorded on VHS and gone back to for happy time.

I get that if don't make it so that you can't have one, you will have ties. But I like the way that your philosophy becomes more aggressive if you don't have an OT. Unless you're Pat Dye, of course.

I can't freaking stand 4-5 OT games. Just end the damn thing. It just goes on and on and on.

And if you know you have OT in your back pocket, you are rewarded for being conservative. For example, it's 20-17, there's 4 seconds left, and you're on their 5 yard line. If you have an OT rule, you just wimp out and kick the FG. I'd rather see a team just play it out right there and win or lose.
