This word really needs to go.

Most overused in regards to college football.

If nobody was doing it in 1920 - then it's "gimmicky as shite".

It's a gimmick because its sole purpose is to draw attention to itself.

It's a marketing gimmick, therefore it's gimmicky as shite.

ETA: I'm not talking about the actual game of football, it's paint on a field

Am I the only person who likes the matte helmets?

It's kinda cool, but I don't think teams should be able to paint the field (looking at you, Boise).

I'm not sure about matte helmets, but I love matte on old muscle cars.

boise's field is normal if you get past the fact that it's blue

but this crap shouldn't be allowed, also the oregon basketball court is crap

but on the other end, not seeing a logo on any soccer field anywhere is dumb... people depend on those logos to know where the game is taking place

Oregon is Gimmicky. So last night my dad must have been watching the great Sun Belt matchup, and sent me a text saying he was tired of all the pepto bismol while watching football. I just replied back that at least it was just socks/shoes and gloves, and wasn't as bad as Oregon's pink helmets. He actually said those were pretty cool. Might have to disown him. He gets a pass because he's getting older. Once.

The NCAA doesn't allow it. The rule book is very specific as to field markings.

I'm surprised they haven't put a "Boise Rule" in effect to limit fields to green. Maybe the EW and CA fields will get the attention of the rules committee

I thought they had, but Boise and NIU were grandfathered in since they were already not-green.

I know running in sand is harder. I'm talking about all that shite getting into your cleats.
