it was the absolute circus and hoopla around the "HEY LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME, EVERYONE PLEASE LOOK AT ME" ceremony in which he left.
This point is ridiculous to me. Almost all NBA stars are like this. Jordan was never humble. NEVER. He was as flashy as they come. Kobe? Held a press conference when LeBron came into the league for no other reason but to take away from LeBron's moment.
Holding that against LeBron is hilarious to me.

That he is only the 3rd best player of all time

Are you not aware he left basketball for two years after threepeating then came back and threepeated again? The half a season when he was knocking off the rust doesn't count. Lebron can't hold MJ's jockstrap. All of you Lebron pampers are probably too young to have watched MJ live.
Except the stats, metrics, everything you can dig up says that Lebron is only a notch under MJ. So if anyone can hold his jock it's Lebron.
He left basketball because he knew he'd eventually lose if he didn't take a break. You can say what you will about Lebron but he didn't need to take a break to lick his wounds.
And I'm 35, I've seen both.

If Jordan played in today's game he would break scoreboards.
Michael Jordan disagrees with this statement

Also, why do people generally loathe Kobe for his personality but MJ is regarded as the GOAT when he was/is worse in terms of berating players?

LeBron is the biggest prima donna in the history of sports. It has nothing to do with the decision. The guy is a grade A douche.

I thought the line you quoted was about when Jordan retired to be honest.

He's a skilled Black Jack player. He's won 7-figures in several sessions. He likes to play 3 hands at once. Two at $25k and then rotating around the third spot for between $50k and $100k.
He also only drinks Don Julio Tequila when gambling.

Notoriously bad tipper.
This tells me a lot about someone's character.

In the 88'-89' postseason, the Bulls lost to Detroit in the ECFs, 4-2.

You sure it was pippen and not rodman? Pretty sure rodman dating her for a while

No, it was Pippen. This was when Rodman was still with the Pistons.

My brother was telling me a story about how they'd go play ball in Tennessee and there was this guy who had his black belt That would put on shows. The guy was a Christian and would witness to people as he did demonstrations. One of his demonstrations was slicing a watermelon in half off of a guy's stomach. Well the guy goes on to say he put on a show in northcarolina and wanted to get a big name participant. Well he called around and they said they could get him some freshman basketball player named Michael Jordan. He was disappointed, but said ok. Well anyway he gets MJ up there and he refuses to do the stunt. Well the guy calls him a chicken on stage, so Michael says "ok, ok, I'll do it". The guy puts a blindfold on him and MJ gets nervous again. Anyway the guy ends up doing it...well he says he immediately knew he went a little to far. He said MJ was so skinny he couldn't judge how far to slice. Michael gets up pissed that he cut his shirt, then realizes he's bleeding, well he ended up storming out and had to get 3 stitches.
The guy starts every show telling that story. He then says everyone please pray for Michael Jordan, as of back then, he wasn't a saved man.

The game MJ scored 63 in the playoffs against the Celtics, he scored 54 points in regulation, game went 2 ots. Elgin Baylor's 61 is the most in regulation in the playoffs. MJ was 19-21 from the free throw line, and didn't attempt a single 3 in the game(sort of).
MJ was fouled attempting a three (which was a bs call on McHale) at the end of regulation and missed it, while down 2, but stepped on the line so he only got 2 free throws and hit both to go to OT.
He also missed a jumper from the elbow at the end of the first OT that would have won it.
He went 1-6 from the field in the second OT with 2 turnovers, and they loss.
Also, the bulls were 30-52 that season and made the playoffs, only 50 loss team to ever make the playoffs.

There was only one person in Jordan's career who could hold him to 20 points per game.
Dean Smith

Yep. Tiger and Pippen are also known to be bad or non-tippers, and both are pieces of shite
