Did I say anything disparaging his athletic ability? Did I even suggest that because he's an a-hole he shouldn't be respected for his accomplishments? No, I didn't. My post was a reflection on perception of a person and how that changed with time. I can appreciate the hell out of MJ, still do, doesn't change the fact that I think he's a prick any more than his being a prick doesn't diminish his accomplishments

And it was a general statement, albeit one that drew from your post. Not personal, jabroni. Just an observation. Half the posts in here have been shitting on MJ because of his apparent lack of humanity -- well, no shite. We all knew that.

I feel you. I'm not shitting on MJ. If anything, it was meant more for the younger guys who put current players like LBJ on a pedestal because of who they perceive them to be. What happens on the court/field should define these guys in terms of sports history.

And I feel that.

I don't admire them because of their voting record, their stance on the "issues," or anything like that.

This made me think of MJ saying "Republicans buy shoes too" and Kobe refusing to offer any opinion on the Trayvon Martin stuff.

They each got some backlash too, but most of us just want to see these athletes play ball, whether they're assholes or not.

Jordan sells more shoes now tahn he did when he played. Granted, a new pair is released every Saturday. They typically sellout within 2 hours, max

Jordan is a degenerate gambler who cheated on his wife publicly

As said by another poster the other day,LeBron's entourage doesn't allow phones around King James so he can get away with it.

quote:

When Jordan left the Bulls made it to the conference Finals.

See the difference...The Bulls were a better team then Cleveland or Miami...but with LeBron...his teams have gone to the Finals 6 out of 7 years...without him...they are not even a playoff team.

actually The Bulls didn't go to the ECF that year, but nice fact checking.

Also, Miami lost their starting bigmen by the All Star break to hinder their playoff odds, and their best guard played only 60 games..and he was SECOND on the team in games played this year. Miami suffered crippling injuries.

If Horace Grant and Longley(their two best bigs) both missed the second half of the season and Pippen only played 60 games the Bulls would have not made it to the playoffs either, much less the second round, where they were eliminated.

People seem to forget or not fully grasp the reality that his dad was murdered. I was watching 93 Game 6 interview after CHI won and Jordan is the happiest guy in the world. He's not going anywhere. Then one month later his dad is murdered at a rest stop. Can't possibly imagine that.

The gambling story is insane.

He wears ridiculous suits. God that HoF speech one...

Whats so bad about his speech though btw other than the suit? It was funny and true to his character.

He is what he is and will always be my favorite player. Don't give a shite about the off the court stuff. I already have a Dad.

Seriously its a great speech...

Yep, and that the guys who killed him didn't even know who he was. Just saw a black dude with a fancy watch and Mercedes apparently.
