Curry is 74th in the league in points in the paint.

Curry def lacks the ability to get to the rim. He can get to the rim but he isn't close to good at it.

In the paint does not equal at the rim.

Curry shoots 64% at the rim, Irving 62%. Irving has more attempts.

Last season, 67% vs 58% in favor of Curry, with more attempts for Curry.

Curry is borderline elite at the rim, especially for a PG.

Curry has less attempts because he generally is taking easier shots at the rim.

Do you watch the games? Curry can certainly score at the rim but he isn't elite at at all. Having a high percentage from an area does't make you elite at it. LBJ had a season where he was unreal good from 3 because he really only took open threes. LBJ is and never has been elite at the 3 points line.

Kyrie and it ain't close. He's the only alpha that can shoot in that group.

But if I needed someone to make a terrible decision in a game 7 of the Finals it'd be Curry all day.

Curry is better than Westbrook at the rim, factually speaking.

I would take Westbrook last but this is a joke. Westbrook is by far better at getting to the rim and finishing at the rim.

Oh yeah when I saw the three names, I immediately discarded Russ. Terrific athlete, and a holy terror on both sides of the court, but his shot selection is a substantial cut below the other two.

Uhhh...what? How else do you determine being elite at the rim?

BJ had a season where he was unreal good from 3 because he really only took open threes.
Curry is elite and does it better than Irving every season, not 1 random season.

Also, see the graph above.

It's a fact. It's not even my opinion, it's literally a fact.

But does it much, much worse than Curry every single season. Westbrook is basically never doing it above a 58% clip.

Getting to the rim a whole lot but missing a lot of those does not make you better at it than a guy who does so more efficiently, fwiw.

I pretty much respect everything you post on this board but nobody is their right mind thinks Curry is better at the rim. Irving and Westbrook are taking much more difficult shots than Curry is at the rim.

Exactly. That poster is ignoring that for some reason.

He very likely could be the best at it, but he tries a bit too much and thinks he can make shots he can't, with him it's decision making that holds him back from being in the class of Curry and Irving at the rim.

Again, the data shows it.

I'm sure I actually have in this thread, but generally, I'm not even giving an opinion on this topic, I'm telling you what the facts tell us.

Irving and Westbrook are taking much more difficult shots than Curry is at the rim.
That's a point against them, not for them.
