I agree. Vince was a GREAT cam newton like qb for his senior year. But TEBOW was great for three years.

I'm only 34 and didn't see the teams in the 80s, but the 4 other teams are my top 4 as well, but I'd flip flop 95 Nebraska and penn state.

That UF 2008 team was led by the defense.
The 2008 UF team is the highest scoring SEC team in history. Had a pretty special offense as well.

I think 08 Florida is the best sec national championship since their run began.

They probably were...very balanced, explosive and great D as well.
Florida was in the Top 10 of Total offense in 2008 and #20 in defense. They were very well-balanced. Oklahoma's offense was #1 in scoring and Florida shut them down.
2008 USC's total offense was ranked #13.
scoring defense - 1st
total defense - 1st
passing defense - 1st
rushing defense - 5th
(I read that 2008 USC allowed the lowest points in the Pac-12 since 1967)

USC 2005 was a paper tiger with possibly the best college offense of the modern era
it masked a LOT of issues (esp on D) throughout the season

Oklahoma's offense was #1 in scoring and Florida shut them down.

Mariota was faster than Manziel and he had a better arm and would sling it.
Manziel had those signature plays because he looked out of control at times, but Mariota once he got in open field never was caught.
Manziel was way better than Mariota. Also Mariota getting caught from behind by Stanford(Deanthony Thomas didn't block) kept Oregon out of the national championship.

Anybody that doesn't have 1995 Nebraska or 2001 Miami either 1 or two is a total dipshit..............

They got emberrassed multiple times throughout the season. The usc D was so much better in 04. Had that 04 defense played against VY usc rolls by double digits

We were discussing the best college offense, not best college team.
01 Miami doesn't have one of the 4 best college offenses of all time.

Embarrassed? You don't know what you're talking about.
They played 7 top 25 scoring offenses
1.Texas
5.UCLA
6.Fresno St
7.Arizona St
8.Notre Dame
12.Oregon
21.Washington St
25.Cal
+ Hawaii who was #11 nationally in total offense lead by Colt Brennan
The only team that scored above their average vs USC was Fresno St

I love usc just as much as anyone here but saying they kept a team under their average doesn't mean much.
Usc couldn't get any stops in the Texas, notre dame or Fresno game. Asu shredded them for a half.
05 was carroll's worst defensive team, except for maybe his last season in 09. Had that 05 team featured any other defensive unit from carroll's tenure they win that game going away.

On D? Maybe no.

Cam Newton with Auburn. I am not confident Auburn goes to a bowl that year with Newton.

And then both were shite in the NFL!!

There is a thing called quality of competition. No defense in history could consistently get stops on #1(Texas) #6(Fresno) #7(ASU) and #8(ND) ranked scoring offenses.
But they held the #4(UCLA) #12(Oregon) #21(Washington St) and #25(Cal) ranked scoring offenses to a combined 7 tds most of them coming in garbage time. 05 USC was clearly a VERY good defense.
Just for comparison's sake 04 USC played only the #7(Cal) #14(Oklahoma) and #25(Virginia Tech) ranked scoring offenses. If you can't see the huge disparity in competition then I don't know what to tell you

You are actually very wrong on this. There was a team that exact same year that shut down both Texas and notre dame. The Buckeyes D was dominant even in the loss to Texas.
The 05 defense was bad by Pete Carroll standards.
