JR Smith

hit 17 threes in Games 3-5. He sucked 1 and 2 but he turned it on the back 3 games.

Cleveland could have been in a 2-2 series if they didn't shite the bed in G3. Maybe they should just try to play better next year and try harder to avoid offensive lapses like they had at the end of G3 and in the second quarter of G4.

Lets face it...James is going to leave the Cavs next year unless they have the money to gain a couple of top FA's. If they don't, he will just bolt to a team that is already loaded. He will take the easy way out.

My crackpot theory is that Griffen wanted to trade Love for Paul George, but Gilbert refuses to be awful like he was when LeBron left previously. He wasn't taking the chance of having James and George leave after next season thus only having Irving left.

If LeBron would just commit to staying with the Cavs long term I'm sure trades like that would be made. James wants his cake and eat it too. He can't complain when the owners are looking out for their long term interest when he will not commit to anything more than next season. James thinks by keeping the power it keeps ownership honest about trying to build a championship team, but his refusal to make long term plans is actually hindering the ownership from making moves to actually do that.

They have no money and no assets. He pushed for most of this horrible current contracts. Honestly, what does he expect exactly?

Harden was better across the board last year. A deep playoff run and Lebron could be dethroned as leagues best player in a years tjme. Yep you got it.

I would be very dissapointed if Lebron goes to the Lakers.

He has the leverage, all of it. He'd be crazy to put his trust in CLE leadership at this point. The ball is in their court to make enough moves to keep him. So far, not so good.

So many people did not read the OP:

quote:

Further exacerbating James’ frustration is the Cavs were close to making a deal for then-Chicago Bulls All-Star Jimmy Butler the day Gilbert decided to mutually part ways with Griffin and Redden, two people familiar with negotiations told USA TODAY Sports. They requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the negotiations.

Why would any player sign a long term deal with Cleveland when most are assuming that LBJ leaves after this season?

Has anyone else confirmed that a deal was indeed close?

I didn't say any player should sign with Cleveland.

Why are most assuming LeBron leaves? Probably because CLE leadership botched it...again.
