I will never understand people here who misrepresent what team/program they support with their TD preference/logo.

Makes no sense to me.

I change mine up for various reasons. Used the USA flag logo while my wife was deployed and also use it for the Olympics. Using my current one to honor a local celeb who is a Wake Forest alum. List goes on.

The Lambert Longhorns (GA) use the logo and are maroon. They even sign things with Hook em horns.

my old high school uses the spear on the side of the helmets just like Florida State as does half the schools in Alabama with a Native American Mascot.

Nah, Georgia hasn't but I know Penn St, Miami, and FSU have gone after high schools. They usually give them 10+ years to get things done.

Winnfield uses the Wisconsin W too, but the Winnfield W has a white border around it so it's not exactly identical. That's apparently enough for legal protection.

No, that's definitely not enough. There are so many schools that use the flying W logo that Wisconsin doesn't know about. When they become aware of a team infringing on their trademark, they take action.

Well St Amant changed theirs it appears, but STM still uses the Penn State logo to my knowledge, so how did they get approval?

Seems like 75% of high schools use the logo of a college or professional team.

They usually don't give a crap.

Florida made St. Amant stop using the gator logo...... It's actually a lot more common than you think for colleges to pick certain schools and shut it down

Wonder if a school like Georgia does this? Im sure their G logo gets used pretty often.

It's the Packers logo. GB started using the logo in '60 or '61, then both Grambling and Georgia asked to use it as the basis for their logos which both came about in the mid '60s.

I agree completely, but if they are doing this to this school then they need to go after every single high school that uses that logo.

Nope

They need to protect their logo as they fit, and seem like they are willing to give them a reasonable timeline to phase it out.

Penn State went after St. Thomas More in lafayette for using this logo. And the color was the same. They had it on their basketball court and football field.

The Bears logo is actually borrowed from the University of Chicago.

The NFL does not limit use of their logos.

If trademarks aren't enforced, they can't be protected.

Downvote all you want, but it's simple trademark law.
