Oregon was the second best team behind Bama but they didn't have the resume.

Malik Zaire will be a Heisman contender. They were 3 turnovers away from being a playoff team last year and Golsten leaving will only improve that.

I'm not sure about that but you can't deny that Notre Dame had earned the right to be in that game. If you're still talking about the ND Alabama BCSNCG in Miami.

Only three or four other college teams have more NFL talent in the two deep right now.

Lol, two teams in your conference, Clemson and FSU, have more talent in their two than ND does.

Let alone 3 or 4 in the whole nation.

Of course, the ironic thing about 2012 coming up in this thread based on the OP's video is ND was unranked at the start of that season, so actually really underrated compared to where the Irish finished.

ND returns 17 of 22 starters from last year's team, but it's even "better" than that. The only starter on D lost is Cody Riggs at CB. He's being replaced by KeiVarae Russell. Russell (projected first round pick) was a starter on the 2012 NCG team as a freshman and started on the 2013 team as a sophomore, but was suspended all of last season. So essentially, all 11 positions on D for ND this year have a past starter returning.

On O, four starters are gone. Two ran out of eligibility. But two others (Golson and Hegarty) were basically not guaranteed of keeping their starting spots this year, and went to FSU and Oregon, respectively, for their fifth years. It's possible their backups could be better.

If almost any other P5 team in the country went 8-5 the previous year, beat LSU in a bowl and returned what I described in the first two paragraphs and was ranked No. 11 (not even in the top 10), hardly anybody would say anything, and people might even think it's reasonable. But because it's the Irish, they're overrated.

You're joking, right?

LSU
Alabama
Ohio State
Florida State

^ Those teams without a doubt have more NFL talent.

Teams that i think would easily compare as of today:

Texas A&M
Georgia
Auburn
USC

In fact those four teams you listed are the exact four teams that nfl.com lists as having more NFL talent than ND this year.

Auburn definitely doesn't. USC is in a similar boat as ND, but they're still pretty thin. UGA might, but A&M isn't even close. None of those four teams are going to be throwing out three first rounders next year like ND will.

I watched both USC and Arizona State both cruise to victories over Notre Dame. Golson wasn't the problem. Being severely overmatched on the offensive and defensive lines, as well as a lack of talented skill players, was the problem.

You realize that ND was throwing out second- and third-teamers at that point in the season in the D line, right? Nine defensive starters were out by the time we played ASU and USC, and five or six more on the two deep weren't playing. Our injuries on defense were catastrophic last year.

I'm generally not some ND sunshine-pumper, and I still don't think this team will be a playoff contender until proven otherwise, but I know a talented team when I see one. Talent hasn't been ND's problem for seven or eight years. We went six and motherfricking six in 2009 with a team that started, among many others, Michael Floyd, Golden Tate, Kyle Rudolph, Harrison Smith, Jonas Gray, Sergio Brown, Kyle McCarthy, Manti Te'o, Ian Williams, etc., etc. We know underachieving with great players.

Video needs to be updated. They aren't "0 for the 2000's" in bowl games they beat LSU

ND's actually 4-2 in its last six bowl games. To be fair, none of the wins were in a major bowl and only two of the wins were against what could be considered strong programs historically, but still.

Zero? You must not follow college football and scouting very closely. Might want to start with their LT Stanley.

Tell me exactly who had any relevance in the nfl that played there in the last 15-20 years? Lady Quinn, Teo, Zorich?

NFL talent during the Bob Davie, Ty Willingham, Weis era? Yeah, not much. Recently, they've been producing a lot more NFL talent. Not on the level of the late 90s but much better than the 00s. Your statement of "zero" NFL talent sounds uninformed.
