I'm sure they tell their kids that all the time. They are kids. They see one of their teammates getting attacked, they are going to step in to defend them. It's human nature. Coaches preach all the time about being a team... well... a team stands up for one of their own.

It's a tough situation. We tell kids to stick up for each other, to defend each other, but when they do so, they get in trouble for it.

They should have consulted RMC, he could have told them how to get an expelled team back in the playoffs.

Heard from excellent sources one of those kids up that way was shooting the middle finger salute and grabbing his crotch at the visitors last Friday night after ZHS won. Sad but I've seen the baseball team act the same. It's the coaches that allow it that are the problem.

Dunno - In a game I worked a kid - I knew went on to field during a fight - he actually went to pull a team mate OFF of an opponent - still ejected and still suspend the next game - kid a smart one too- had no clue that was the rule

There were a few Zachary players taunting the fans. Some of the Hahnville fans were yelling back (trashy, IMO). But it was more of a few isolated incidents.

The long time Lutcher Offensive Coordinator is now the head coach at St. James

I was wondering where he came from, and you're correct. He has St. James competing again.

Saw their video interview of the head coach this morning.
Cam Cameron was watching Lowell Narcisse at practice.

I've stated in the other thread several times that I don't know this situation as well. If you think TC being allowed to play in the playoffs and ZHS not being able to was the correct result when that occurred then you have some serious bias somewhere along the line.

My high school girls' team played Lake Providence in the second round of the playoffs a few years ago.
LP put a girl in who started swinging wildly after being fouled during the third quarter. Every player on the home side left the bench and were ejected. No players from the LP side left the bench area.
The only players allowed to stay on the floor were those on the floor at the time of the incident. One of those fouled out a short time later, leaving four to finish the game.
We won anyway.

Bogalusa should be ineligible for next year's playoffs. This would be somewhat equal since regular season games is not the same as a playoff games.

Doesn't this punish the winner of the Lutcher/West Feliciana game by forcing them to play an opponent coming off a bye?

They should either impose the sanctions next year or give someone a mulligan. The way they did it affects teams that had nothing to do with the incident.

And the Lutcher excuses have already started.

Good job LHSAA teaching a valuable lesson: there are serious repercussions for actions like these in the real world. Start a brawl at a bar and you're going to jail. Start a brawl in a football game and you automatically forfeit the win

I would imagine the judge is hearing the case at this time, going to be interesting to see what the result of that is.

St. James oughta wipe the floor with Lutcher. Lutcher damn near got beat by Kaplan, and should have been beat. If they play that kind of undisciplined ball again, they will lose.

would they? i haven't kept up all season but i saw all over fb that lutcher had tons of questionable calls against them in kaplan...lutcher beat the snot out of st james earlier in the season but without the st james qb

st james coach is a product of lutcher, he was a big part of getting lutcher rolling in recent years

I heard Bonine on WWL radio Wed night and he indicated no action had been taken to date on the Bogalusa players, and that a "sportsmanship" hearing would be held in the next few weeks to determine the penalties to the Bogalusa players.

To me this is unacceptable. If the penalty for leaving the bench area is suspension for the next game, then no hearing is needed and the suspensions should have been issued for the first regular season game for Bogalusa next year.

What about seniors? I guess they just get away with it?
