Easily Wisconsin. He stepped into a new system and didn't miss a beat and even got better.

I love Russell Wilson and I think being labeled as a game manager is unfair to him. He's doing what he's being asked to do in the system. He's more than capable of shouldering the load imo.

Really good fit. Really well-coached.

No one is that nice, perfect, and responsible all the time. He recently got a divorce and his wife signed a "confidentiality agreement" to not talk about their relationship or Russell at all. Its not just that, I just get a feeling something is off about him. No proof, no anything, just a gut feeling.

I agree with this.

These are VERY common for celebrities when they get divorced.

Wasn't his wife like a superstar Christian girl or something who'd dated him for a long time?

It certainly struck me as weird, although perhaps he just decided to make a ruthless financial decision.

Nah, normal sorority girl who went to UGA. But yeah they'd been together forever and both are somewhat religious, but not crazy religious.

A female friend of mine from New Orleans was in their wedding (UGA grad) and said Russell doesn't talk to people very much and has a very weird and small group of male friends that he didn't seem close to.

She is a cool Nola chick and agrees with me that something is off.

Can't put my finger on it though

However, I've never met him or been near him, so I could be wayyyy fricking off. My Weirdo Radar just goes off when he's being interviewed on TV

ETA:

and before someone says Drew Brees seems perfect, that dude gets wasted with friends and according to all the Nola people is normal as frick.

potential superstar, if not already. He doesn't play in a scheme that will allow him the brees/brady/manning opportunities

He is great at moving around in the pocket

He senses the pressure behind him

throws the ball away and doesn't force it

is crazy unsackable

his acceleration is kind of nuts

when he runs, he looks down field. He puts so many defensive players in a bad spot when he starts moving

arm strength

quick decisions

I think he's the best player on that team.

Yeah I know, they just had a very, very strange breakup. No one knows why it happened and she can't talk about it, even with her close friends.

I said he's probably a bit above game manager. His Qb rating is so high because he isn't asked to do that much. He threw like 16 passes a game last year. That being said, he usually delivers when he is asked to make plays.

I thought she cheated on him. Didn't she end up sleeping with some football player? I don't know.

He's a top 7 QB. He's efficient. "Game manager" isn't an insult, you have to be a "game manager".

Yes, his numbers haven't been amazing. But it isn't like he has top tier receivers. Harvin may be that now, but other than him he has a lot of "solid" receivers.

Manning has Thomas, Thomas, Welker, and Sanders.
Rodgers has Nelson and Cobb.
Luck has Wayne, Nicks, Hilton, and Fleener.

Just a few examples. Brees/Brady are in a similar situation. Both have a star TE, and then some "solid" receivers. They put up better numbers yes, but they're also big time veterans.

Will be a great QB. Throws a beautiful ball. Makes good decisions. Can read a defense and throw to the gaps, not just muscle it in when he sees an open receiver. Very smart runner.

Top 10 QB.

The girls in her wedding don't even know apparently. Everything is rumors.

Someone at NC State started a rumor that Russell likes Golden Showers which isn't true, but absolutely hilarious

His QB rating is high because he's incredibly efficient. He may not be asked to do much (which I don't believe), but the point is he delivers at a high level. Again, the guy passed for 26 TD's last year, and passed for 26 the year before that. Only 8 other quarterbacks threw for more TD's last year than Wilson.

You see them drafting another QB instead of paying Wilson?

I agree that being a "game manager" shouldn't be an insult, but you know it comes with negative connotations.

Also, to the point of this thread, Russell is a fricking great QB.

Amazing pocket presence, good arm strength, always keeps his eyes down field, very strong and athletic so he has good escapability and can run if he has to. Not to mention one of the more intelligent guys in the league. He has a quick release, good accuracy, but average arm strength. Won't make many "WOW!" throws, but won't make many bad pics or misses.

I think he will be a stud in the NFL for 15 years.
