I rarely listen to the Simmons podcasts, although I get why he would spend more time with the show. However, the clips I have seen have been very average. It's no different than a typical panel interview show, and Bill's monologues have been very mild.
The Ringer has been a massive disappointment. Grantland was one of the better sites out there, and it got much better as it went on. By year 2, it was blowing away everything it competed with.
The new cast fells like Saved By the Bell: The New Cast. I am 100% confident I could create a better sports and pop culture site, using 10-15 MSB and Movie/TV posters, and I'm not kidding in the slightest.

The most recent episode of Any Given Wednesday had nothing to do with sports

There has to be an expiration date on ideas you sit on, kind of like with patents
You'd be the main featured columnist on the site anyways, bro.

The show has sucked and has made the podcast suffer which is what I love. He's trying to rely on all his ringer employees podcasts too much.

It's interesting to listen to how primaries work and what they did
The episode when they gave accounts of what happened behind the scenes of the Bin Laden killing was very fascinating. I don't have a political affiliation so they don't bother me. It's honestly the only podcast I listen to regularly on Bill's network. I've unsubscribed from everything else

The only simmons podcasts worth a shite are ones that involve
Cousin Sal

Michael Rapaport

I'd love for there to be more podcast that are oral histories of recent events.

Somehow he's still finding ways to talk about Deflategate in every podcast. Its absurd.
I think I go through phases of liking and disliking Simmons, and so far the Ringer is pushing me to the dislike side. Simmons is the only podcast I'm still subscribed to and I don't think I've listened to the last 4 or 5. The website itself is closer to Buzzfeed than Grantland. I really haven't read much since the first week.
Maybe an HBO documentary series can turn things around.

simmons goes in waves
there is always this period where he drifts into being the cool guy talking about cool guy stuff and it falls off, and then he eventually focuses on his bread and butter (Basketball and some NFL) and it gets back on track
note: i haven't been watching. i'm just commenting on his career in general
ETA: all of this

The rest of his podcasts can go ahead as long as he still does this every week

Yea, I enjoy these guys. The cous is awesome.
I gave Rapaport's podcast a try after enjoying his stuff with Simmons but it is absolute garbage

Rapaport is best in small doses

His articles were always overrated. He knows his basketball history but is more concerned about you know that he knows his stuff then making an interesting point he's too long winded. He doesn't get along with people and the one thing he's good at he's not doing. Team usa is playing he can talk about that. He's a shitter version of bill mahar if bill mahar gave a shite about sports and was a complete idiot

Wouldn't 42 days put us right along the timeline of the NBA Finals? We are in the dog days of the sports summer. Simmons will be back at it once football season starts. You have ro remember,a lot of radio host often take their vacations around this time. There just isn't enough to talk about.
