Maybe it's because I'm from South Louisiana and many of my friends are LSU fans, but it seems every year much of the groaning about the CWS with the ballpark and lack of homeruns comes mostly from Tiger fans.

I kind of like the fact you can't just go in there and play strict gorilla ball to win. You need good, timely hitting, pitching and good small ball strategy.

It would be nice to rotate the game if the NCAA and college baseball were interested in growing interest in the sport. The truth is that the CWS gets a few paragraphs if that in the sports pages across the country. You can look at the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Boston Globe, and other papers and compare the attention that the bowl games and NCAA basketball tournament get. In fact, the woman's NCAA tournament gets more attention that the CWS.

Omaha is a good location for the CWS and it's clear the NCAA and college baseball are fine with the way things are so while it would be nice to have the CWS played in Fenway Park and Wrigley Field while the Red Sox and Cubs go on a road trip, it won't happen. I bet the players enjoy a CWS in big league parks and you can still make road trips.

Yes but how can build for anything if its just gonna change all the time

if you build a team around a park you MIGHT play in at the end of the season, regardless of the park you play half your games, that would be pretty freaking stupid and probably not terribly successful unless of course your park and conference match the style best suited for TD Ameritrade.

And what happens to stats and history?

First of all who really cares or knows about stats in CBB (whos the NCAA HR leader?), 2nd, they've changed the bats recently, multiple times and now the ball. and it has greatly altered the stats. LSU hit 188 HR one year, the entire SEC may not have hit that many in 2013 or for that matter since 2013. Me thinks you are applying an old, silly MLB argument.

Where would they play? That's the more important question. How many college parks can match TD Ameritrade's attendance?

You could put it in plenty of parks in Texas that would sellout. I'm sure you can stick it in other bigger cities for sellouts. Stick it in Louisville. Stick it in Nashville. Wherever...

Omaha, while centrally located, is a pain to get to. Flights are always higher in price and if you drive...good Lord, bring a lot of beer or Ambien. That's the most mind-numbing drive in America. Not only that...Omaha, while a nice town, gets pretty dull after a couple of days.

It's okay in Omaha, but not in TD Ameritrade.

Everyone should know that. Pete Inciviglia from Ok State. They were in the CWS almost every year back then but never won it. Gary Ward either didn't recruit pitchers or couldn't coach them. They would lose games 14-12 and such.

Wrong. The Omaha locals hate the new park and the year UCLA won the announcers were constantly ripping how bad the combination of the new bats and new Rosenblatt was, Miss. State was bombing some mistake pitches and were getting caught on the warning track.

The new seams have helped slightly, but its still a big problem.

What parks? I don't see any reason the MiLB would force a team to be out of town to allow for the CWS to play in their stadiums.

Zephyrs are currently playing in Omaha, I'd imagine that probably helps attendance at the MiLB game, being in town during CWS.

Skip has been saying since the move that the only way offense will improve at the new stadium is to bring in the fences. The stadium 's location is configured in such a way that at that time of the year, the winds are always blowing in. Check out the flags. Moving in the fences should not be that big of a deal. As for moving it around, to the players & coaches, going to Omaha has always been a dream, to the degree that Omaha for the CWS is as much a "place" as is the Rose Bowl, the Kentucky Derby, Yankee Stadium (even the new one is a draw in & of itself ). CPM likes playing the SEC tourney in Hoover because of its similarity to Omaha, giving his players the chance to get used to the distances in the outfield, fences, etc. But something has to be done. UCLA winning the CWS while hitting .241 for the year, with scores like 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 in Omaha is not good for college baseball.

but they don't or and even if they did, the change of bats means whatever his record is no one will ever come close.

The more i think about, the idea that they should not move the CWS from Omaha because of stats, makes no sense, since we are after all talking about the championship, the stats are built over the season.
