Yes, I have been to Omaha. It is a great city and they are a great host. I'm not to fond of the new ball park since it is so difficult to hit a home run there.

The Final Four rotates. The National championship game and playoff locations rotate. Why not college baseball?

It seems like more interest and excitement could be generated if cities could placed bids on hosting the CWS.

I like it when something doesn't have to be like every thing else, so I'm fine with it being in Omaha.

Uh...because baseball stadiums are different than uniform basketball and football stadiums.

You can't play crap-shoot with what team is better suited for a different field year in and year out.

Had to be uniform to insure every team that won played on the same level playing field.

Can't be like, we are the short field champs or easy infield or short right champs.

ETA: Every NCAA B-ball champ and MNC in football played on a level historically consistent playing field...court and field....

I think it would be very cool, but seeing as the new ballpark was built pretty much exclusively for the CWS (the Omaha Storm Chasers play at Werner Park), I don't see it happening anytime soon

Football stadiums aren't uniform. Grass versus turf. Indoor and outdoor.

I'm not sure what your point is here.

They need to just move the fences in on the new park to create more excitement. It's a shame that the CWS has gone downhill since leaving Rosenblatt.

Then why do MLB parks all have varying dimensions?

And there has never been a home run hit to center field in the new ball parks CWS history.

That is a problem.

It kind of messes with tradition. Omaha = Mecca of NCAA baseball

Bringing the fences in some may not be a bad idea

Really?

You don't understand the difference between uniform basketball courts and football fields...and the difference between non-uniform baseball fields?

This is not something you learned?

College Baseball has a history...and you can't start shopping around. Stats matter, dimensions matter, the field matters...you can't start having teams mold their squads based on what year is going to what place.

You are aware most baseball diamonds aren't like football fields, uniform...no home field short right field and a basketball court is uniform no matter where you play it.

You can't change the playing field every year...because you are obviously changing the parameters of winning the title.

It's pretty obvious.

It's shopping best locations for pitchers or bomber teams.

Different field setups in what I love about baseball.

Has not been an issue in Major League Baseball for the last 100 years. Funny.

Has not been an issue at regional host sites and super regional host sites.

Playing at different baseball parks with different dimensions is part of the game. Anybody who watches baseball knows this.

That statement is just ridiculous.

No I love that too...

But this is college baseball.

It's fair, when teams are well aware of their CWS destination and can build for it...

To have it change, year after year...

One year a great homerun team gets an advantage, next year it's a great pitching team...unbeknowest to the coach who recruit great hitters...because by year 3, he's now playing in a huge park...

You don't give coaches a chance to build and plan and you reward teams that just happen to have an advantage that year for certain ballparks by rotating.

It needs to be uniform to be fair.

Like the OP said...like Basketball and Football.

Right now teams are building for small ball. That's boring AF.

I don't see how it's unfair to change parks every year. Who would be getting an advantage? Your team should be adaptable to any style of play. It's BS to scream foul because your team wasn't built for a specific park.

The vast majority of teams in the country, including those who get to Omaha, no doubt build their teams for their home park and not TD Ameritrade.

Yes but how can build for anything if its just gonna change all the time...

And what happens to stats and history?

Stats matter in college basketball...every court is the same...football is 100 yards.

This would smell of corruption and some conference with great hitting or great pitching pushing certain fields every year.

It would be a disaster and rife with bribery and confusion.

There's a reason LLWS and CWS have to have a designated place.

You can't interchange like basketball.

Because in this day and age of everyone getting a damn trophy, one year you'd have it in Billings, Montana and 42 people would show up
