I don't think the entire school should suffer for the actions of a few.

I think anyone involved or who knew it was going on and allowed it to happen deserves the death penalty.

Paterno should have all wins since the first reported abuse came out and every thing that has his name on it removed from the university. I dont know why yall think this has nothing to do with the football team either, the headcoach for christ sake was involved along with asst. Coach/head coach in waiting.

And where did you get this revelation, dimwit?

Yes it was an act of racism supported by the majority of the citizens of our state at the time. I have spent my adult life trying to teach others that bigotry of any sort is not acceptable. Unfortunately, I am in the minority in this state I love and in which my ancestors helped settle after......we kicked the original inhabitants out.
Sorry for the soapbox.

Is there a correlation between the facts that you stated and that the majority of fans in the state are bama fans ?

My guess is that most bama fans would agree with you.

Aren't there limits to what you can sue the State for?

HELL NO.

Penn States football team is governed by the NCAA. The issues with specific individuals within that Athletic department and University are with the legal system of the state of Pennsylvania.

Student Athletes at Penn State should not suffer because of individual negligence of a legal nature which is not even within the scope of the NCAA.

I seriously doubt this falls within the institutional control limits of NCAA as this has never happened before.

And by the fricking way...

I consider the PSU athletes and student body and fans to be VICTIMS of this whole disaster. Why would you penalize victims? Their whole college experience is now permanently tainted with this terrible time.

So why has Emmert stated the NCAA will be involved. Not disagreeing, but apparently they will be involved like or not

Because the NCAA is a political animal. And Penn State needs to get that billion dollar endowment working in defending its students and innocents. There are specific folks within Penn State that need to be accountable. That may well be as high up as the president.

The problem is that the NCAA's ability to enforce is limited to prohibitions against the athletic teams. That is UNFAIR and I hope a case can be made that its illegal.

What Sandusky did is disgusting, immoral and an outrage of unspeakable nature. however, how the NCAA, the Penn State community and the American citizenry as a whole get through this is up for debate.

I just think about any kid who is a player on the Penn State softball team, or whatever, who is just doing good work and getting through school must think about all this unspeakable bullshite. NCAA death penalty? You better apply it to all sports because the president of the university was involved along with AD etc.

This tar baby is going to get black and nasty and burning once this gets to court. For years.

The NCAA better leave this to the courts and stay the frick out of it.

I agree, a line has to be drawn as to what the NCAA governs. I think this sets a precedence that could get ugly in the long haul

Yeah, that letter looks like a very broad umbrella telling PSU "Don't be shocked if we..."

Another question is if PSU gets the big zap will B1G vote them out. In the SEC it requires 3/4 vote. I would imagine the B1G has the same type mechanism.

I see about a year long investigation. No death penalty, but some extremely harsh penalties.

Only if they can find a viable replacement. What candidates are there to replace them?

ND and, I hate to say it, a certain new member. Not saying they would accept invite but those are two they may go after.
