Boise has this thing in the bag... them and Oregon are the real deal this year. Rematch from last year.

No. A one loss SEC team is very hard to keep out of the NCG.

That's ridiculous. Winner of SEC-CG goes to BCS-CG (even with 2 losses). Everyone remembers Florida vs Hawaii - not going to try that again real soon.

a late season loss could hurt Auburn, but I think it could be like OU back in 03'. They lost and only dropped a spot in the BCS(i think?) and was entitled to the BCSCG.

Utah beat Alabama less than 2 years ago in a BCS bowl. Boise has won 2 BCS Bowls. I understand the SEC is a good conference, but if you suffer a blemish you should not be allowed to hop over a team that started the season #3 in the country and didnt lose.

Auburn might be good enough to get the job done, but I just see them losing either to Alabama or the SEC title game.

Utah has won 2 BCS bowls, too. So have Wisconsin and West Virginia. What does that have to do with their 2010 teams?

this thread makes you wonder why so many folks think SEC fans are the most intelligent college football fans around.

If you break down the schedule Boise has you will see that they should not be ranked that high. I will do the honor of showing you why.

Game 1: Virginia Tech. A big win at the time that was only spoiled within a week. VT falls to a small time school named James Madison.

Game 2: Wyoming. A team that barely beat Southern Utah and has a record of 2-7. Granted they have had a decent schedule but still.

Game 3: Oregon State. A team that lost to Washington in double overtime. However Washington just got blasted by Stanford tonight. So is OSU really that good? No is the answer.

Game 4: New Mexico State. Granted Boise easily beat NMSU but they should have. Seeing as NMSU is 1-7. Oh by the way NMSU's only win is over New Mexico who has not won a game this whole year. The game was close winding up to be 16-14 in favor of NMSU.

Game 5: Toledo. Lost to Wyoming. Enough said.

Game 6: San Jose State. Has won two games this season. Southern Utah and New Mexico State. Oh wait did I mention that SJS lost to UC Davis a D-1AA school. My bad.

Game 7: Louisiana Tech. LA Tech has a record of 3-5. One of those wins being against Grambling State.

The rest of the year Boise gets a cake walk.

Hawaii: Actually a team that gets up for big games but is not really that good when it comes down to it.

Fresno State: Got taken care of by a really bad Ole Miss team that has just started to pick up. They also got done nasty by Hawaii.

Nevada: A team that is starting to look better. But suffered a loss to Hawaii.

Utah State: Is 2-5 about to be 2-6 because Nevada is working them right now. Oh by the way did I say that USU got murdered by San Diego State?

Boise State is a good team I will admit. Don't take this post in the wrong way and think that I am trying to bash you, because I am not. I am simply saying that year in and year out Boise hears about they are not "good enough" to get into the BCSNCG. Well then why don't they schedule an SEC team and prove themselves.

Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier is all but begging for a major opponent – any major opponent – to play his Broncos, particularly in 2011. He can hardly get his calls returned. Not by the SEC. Not by the Big Ten. Not by anyone.

quote:

Bleymaier is making a nearly unheard of offer in college football scheduling – Boise will bring its popular, high-profile, top-10 team to any stadium in any town to play any big name team in America in 2011. And they don’t have to return the date in Idaho. So far, no one has bit. ESPN has even become involved trying to broker a deal that will almost assuredly be nationally televised. Still no luck.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. The winner of the SECCG in years past has been able vault a one loss SEC team to the top of the standings because it has been such a quality win. If Auburn falls to Alabama, it could mean the end of the SEC's ability to play in the BCS championship game this year because of the opponent that will represent the East in the SECCG. We need to hope that South Carolina keeps winning so they will be in the top 10 for the SECCG. If the team that is representing the East isnt in the top 10 it will be very hard for a 1 loss Alabama, Auburn, or possibly LSU to pass up Boise St, or TCU to play for the BCSNC.

Didnt BSU get creamed by UGA a few years ago? Besides if they want to be recognized... spend some damn money on that Stadium so bigger schools will give a shite.

I get so sick of the "we deserve a shot" argument. So let me get this straight the voters should put you in there over a deserving school that actually played a schedule with more than JV squads because you think you need to prove something? Nah I'll pass.

Make a bid to join the PAC 12 or something.

This is one of the things that makes me dislike ESPN. It is not their job to broker this for Boise State. PERIOD.

LSU in 03 did not get a bump because of UGA. If I remember correct the same team can't be counted twice or some such shite.

Regardless the SECCG doesn't have as big an effect as you think. If it did OU would fell further also in 03.

Big misconception.
