Irrelevant IMO. I could not care less about seeing any of my children being born. The only purpose to be there, IMO, is to be with your SO while a medical event is occurring. If she's going to be fine, and there is something else that's really important, go do that other thing.

What? Do you have children?

Seeing my son when he was first born, seconds into life, was the happiest moment in my life to that moment.

Super Bowl.

I think there is like a 1% chance he would miss the game unless he's actually hurt.

Assuming the doctors are foreseeing a fine, safe delivery with no complications for the child and mother, you've got to go with the Super Bowl.

Remember who your employer is and how vital of a role you have for your team. The Seattle Seahawks did cut Sherman a 4 year $56 million extension recently. You have a duty and obligation to play in the Super Bowl for them in my opinion. If it were a regular season game, then you choose the birth. But the Super Bowl....that's a whole different story.

After completion of the game, you can immediately rush to the Hospital to be with your wife and child.

This. All of this.

Super Bowl, almost certainly.

Rushing there after a Super Bowl win would prolly be pretty fricking happy too. But maybe him being 6 hours old would ruin everything and you wouldnt want him who knows

Nor was I. It sucked but that's life in uniform.

And I meant it.

So then it must not mean anything to you, which means you would miss it for just about any reason you could imagine.

Good for you. Doesn't make you sound any less like an idiot though.

I find it hard to believe that this is Sherman's first child

Is it odd for college graduates to have their first child at 28? Or is there something else you are judging him on?

I'm not implying it would change his feelings toward his son at all. In fact I don't care which one he chooses.
Having a child was the happiest thing that has ever happened to me. I am not competing for a Super Bowl. I don't care which one he chooses.

Honestly, that's awesome for you. I just don't share that same idea with you. That memory would hold no value for me.

Seeing him smile the first time his goofy arse colors inside the lines will give me more joy than seeing him during the birth.

Phil Mickelson was prepared to leave a US Open he was leading to make it to the birth of his first born.

Hunter Mahan left a tournament he was leading last year to fly home for the birth of their child.

2nd Super Bowl vs 1st child....I'm going child. I'd go child even if it was my first Super Bowl. I'm just trying to make more of an argument for the child.

No matter his decision, he will regret his choice. I think he will regret missing his child being born a little les though, since he will have the rest of his life with his child.

So you're continuing to speak on something of which you have no clue. Got it

So it's either SB or not having his child?

Just think what he'd do for Alabama football.
