As you just agreed earlier. Hunter Mahan was just going to work. But he left. Withdrew and didn't get paid.
Did you not read the rest of my post? I have a job but would absolutely leave my job, because by doing so I am not possibly ruining a years effort for the rest of my company....

Mahan was risking his tour card for the next year, FedEx cup points, ryder cup points, and the $1M winners take. But you're right, nothing.

Surely they can stream it live into the replay booth for him.

First of all, risking the tour card? This still doesnt go against my point at all. He was only hurting himself. And what do you want out of this? Everyone to bow down to Hunter? Golfers?

There are other guys to pick up his slack. If anything the decision for him to miss it is easier than a golf pro making the decision.

The Seahawks aren't guaranteed to lose by him not being there. Can't say that about the golf pro.

Ok?

His family is better off if he plays in the game. He has a responsibility to play in the game, and he can be at the hospital in a few hours tops when the game ends

Yea, that's not a risk at all.

Yea, he has no sponsors. No caddie that earns based on his winnings. Nope. None of that.

That was not a risk in 2013 for hunter mahan. Unless it is fair for me to say Richard Sherman is risking his career in the NFL

How? He just resigned for a nice payday, and he'll be paid regardless. He won't lose any sponsors by missing the game for this reason. So how exactly are they better off?

Maybe if I was actually in that situation it'd be different but no way id miss the Super Bowl. I'd feel like i let my whole team down.

You are right. Way harder for a golfer to leave the RBC Canadian open, letting his caddy down, then Sherman leaving the Super Bowl, letting his teammates down

If Phil leaves the US open, it would be a closer analogy. But I still think it is easier to leave as a top golfer than football player than as a golfer.

He signed a $70 million contract and is the highest paid player and leader of the team. They paid him that to win a Super Bowl.

Also, it really shouldn't be much of an issue if she traveled to Arizona. Childbirth really isn't that predictable either. The doctor could say 4 hours and it could be 15 hours.

Winning the tournament grants you automatic status for the tour the next year.

So yes, as a non winner, he was risking his slot.

Laugh all you want, you can't refute what you quoted.
