Top 4 is clear.

GS, SA, Houston, OKC

Minnesota is a wild card. Very disappointing last year.

Clips and Jazz are going to take major steps backwards

I'd keep that top 5 unless Utah gets Heyward, then they are 5th

I know people people like to crap on the Pels management but they have 2 top 15 guys and a very good combo guard in Jrue. They have a different skill set than the other super teams with extremely talented bigs that can score inside and outside.

Warriors, Rockets, Spurs are solidly top 3. The next tier of Minny, OKC, and NOLA are pretty interchangable IMO. The West should be a blast to watch even though there's no doubt the Warriors will win it.

They're gonna lose Hayward, Hill, and Ingles.

So the Pels can't be good because you're blind? Talk about a high bar.

They finished 11-14 last season with those two all-pros.

That's not to say they won't improve with a full off-season to prepare, but they just haven't shown anything yet and we got a glimpse of 25 games.

Can't really put Minny or Nola on OKC's level right now.

OKC just got a lot better, and was 12 games over .500 a year ago.

Minny is a lot of potential and Nola is an experiment.

I really would like to see the Pels have a good team. But I think they are still a couple pieces away from a top 6 team in the west.

You're a little too close to the forrest to see the trees, mate. No one away from this board is saying the Pels are close to a 4 seed in the West. The roster other than Davis, Jrue and Cousins is dog shite. Those two bigs didn't look great playing with each other either. Not saying they can't make the playoffs but nobody away from here considers them just a notch below the top 3...more like a fringe playoff team. Gotta start somewhere though, amirite?

1st of all there were glimpses last season that this will work. Plus u just assume Butler and George will just gel immediately in Min and Okc.

I'm not saying it can't work I'm just saying I haven't seen anything to suggest the Pelicans are going to make a huge leap into a top 6 team in the NBA.

Neither of which played in the last 4 games.
So 10-11.

And if you want to be generous they started 0-3 when Boogie joined up. So 10-8.

Give them a summer to get used to each other and I think they can improve upon that.

Pels are taking a chance that could end up an epic failure or bump them up to the top echelon. GS and SA will have issues on both ends with D.C./AD if they can mesh the very talented skill sets.
