Word is he's already applied for a new position on the national federation level.

I feel for him. He's an incredibly bright guy who was tasked with bring reason to the unreasonable.

Love the way the private fans think they will ruin every public. Maybe you'll screw the inner city publics in NOLA and BR and maybe Laffy but everywhere else will be just fine. Way more publics than privates across the state.

Perfect example of the dangerous combination of arrogance and incompetence of North Louisiana.

Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette are the state's population centers. More people live in the I-10 corridor between BR and NOLA than everything north of I-10.

Like I said last week, one of the major problems with the LHSAA is that North Louisiana is way overrepresented both in votes and on the Executive Committee.

and feasters comments do not help matters at all - on a state wide basis - there has long been animosity between north and south la. but. him stating that folks at private schools are racist is short sighted at best.. YES

many privates were created in the immediate aftermath of integration....

Episcopal, Rummel, Shaw, Notre Dame... and many others.

A lot of schools in the Catholic School League made a standing order to its coaches last week that they are not allowed to participate in any competition with a school that voted for the split.

They're pulling their money.

When they went after girls sports, the LHSAA public schools guaranteed this reaction. A breakaway is happening by the summer.

They spin it by saying one school one vote...

Some schools were told to finish out their agreements and not schedule anymore after the football split.

My take on what is happening:

Several MPSA Louisiana schools are having emergency board meetings early next week.

MPSA meeting to discuss Louisiana / Mississippi divisions - football finals will be Louisiana vs. Miss in Superdome.

1A
2A
3A
4A
Select league - any public or private school can play in select league if they choose.

The semi final location is an issue
The Mississippi voucher matter is an issue
Certified sports is an issue - wrestling is a big topic
Student enrollment count for classification is an issue - there may have to be a Class B league for some of the smaller schools.

Soccer championships played at Miss college - trying to get football semifinals at off campus venues - baseball will work with a development / travel league for scheduling, tournaments.

Looks like all old LISA schools, MS MPSA schools some Miss public schools and several LA public schools are on board - most private LA schools on board - waiting in the Catholic league to decide what the want. They will drive the final decisions on the entire matter.

I don't really think public schools will go unless a good chunk of them go... they'll obviously get pressure to stay loyal to their own

They have the Dome locked down for football but it will be the smaller details that make or break this....can they really get the sponsorships.....if so, I think you will see multiple LA public schools make the jump.

It's going to depend on their school board.

Zachary and Central don't have to answer to a bureaucracy as they are the only HS in their district.

Schools under the EBR School Board will not be allowed to join any league other than the LHSAA.

I haven't heard this but I can tell you that one of the early ideas bounced around two years ago was a Tri-State Association with Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Graduate of a school that was a member in the last year of L.I.S.A. It would be awesome to get it back. Riverside, Parkview Baptist, and False River can relive the glory days. They need to make this happen.

I don't know about Episcopal and Notre Dame, but I do know my history.

Archbishop Shaw, Archbishop Rummel, Immaculata, Archbishop Blenk, and Archbishop Chapelle were founded by Archbishop Rummel in his last years, and he was responding to the population shifts AND the Baby Boom. The Boomer children were beginning to reach maturity and the suburbs of the Archdiocese were growing, that's why there are so many parishes on the West Bank and East Bank of Jefferson Parish. It's where Catholics were going. The Church follows or tries to follow her members and brings herself to them as they move to new areas.

On the West Bank, Immaculata opened, as a parish high school in 1956, Shaw and Blenk in 1962. Before then, the only Catholic High School on the West Bank was Class B Holy Name of Mary, which, incidentally, won a LHSAA State Football Championship in 1955.

H.N.M. was located in Algiers Point, and not centrally located for Catholic students, and had rather smallish facilities. Thus, the others were opened, and H.N.M. closed its high school, but remained as a grammar school until just a couple years ago.

Up to 1962, H.N.M. which had been around a while, and Immaculata which was still new, were both co-educational. Once Shaw opened, all the boys were sent to Shaw, whilst Blenk and Immaculata (now combined as Academy of Our Lady, in Marrero) were girls-only schools.

Would most likely be in different classifications since Parkview is on a different level today then they were back in the '80s. Parkview was just another middle of the road private school before they left LISA.
