Apparently they don't run the LHSAA

well yeah because we had the sense to create larger schools that actually prepare our kids for the world, while yall stick with one room schoolhouses and claim "one school one vote"

that started way back when when the world was a different place and people actually had futures in those places. if it had oversight from the courts and the Voting Rights Act judges would toss it so fast your head would spin

The rural schools aren't under court oversight because they integrated when they were supposed to and didn't fight it all the way.

But you should get it through your heads that nobody outside your area cares about you, either.

That's fine. Enjoy your poor rural school money at the gates.

The private schools + other major publics will enjoy the sponsorships and big crowds. Not to mention, THE legit state champion.

legit state champ? I seriously doubt the best team in the state this year was private and outside a couple of evangel and curtis teams public would take that title predominantly over the last 20 years. People raised in BR and Nola just don't get what it's like to actually have a decent public school or system.

You don't think those late 90s Shaw teams were the best team? Hell, Rummel won 5A a couple years back, could argue they were the best team.

ETA: He also said Major Publics, with the spec that schools like West Monroe, Zachary, Barbe would jump eventually.

So why split then?

I wish they wouldn't have. All I am saying is that everyone on here saying the publics are screwed without the privates is wrong. They talk about some of the "major" publics coming with them. It's not that simple. I went to one of the "major" publics and if the other 2 hs in the district don't want to go there is no way the school I attended could.

The small ones are especially in Acadiana.... They depend on those huge gates they get when STM,Tuerlings,Notre Dame, or Catholic - NI come to town.

Wait so what you're telling me is that the whole reason the publics called for the split was bullshite. Intredasting

They still have to run up against privates in the playoffs who play by a different set of rules.

back when the LHSAA started, there weren't nearly the rules involved for public schools like there are now... not that they were doing it, but if kids transferred back in the day, who was gonna investigate it? that's why we have the tired old arguments about travel when that comes up, and it being unsafe. school buses are now driven by professional drivers on modern roads with modern equipment.

the world has just changed around the LHSAA...
