Stafford isn't above criticism...but, this is bullshite.
Oh really???
quote:
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford’s throwing mechanics have been called into question as long as he’s been in the NFL, and as he threw away Detroit’s division lead with 12 interceptions over the last six games, those questions about his throwing motion intensified.
But Stafford doesn’t think that’s anything he needs to work on over the offseason.
Asked if he would spend time next year learning from a quarterback guru like George Whitfield, who has had good results in private tutoring sessions with several NFL quarterbacks, Stafford said he doesn’t believe that’s what he needs.
“Probably not,” Stafford said. “It’s not something that I feel would be my style or beneficial to me.”

Jackson added that Stafford gets away with being lazy because the team doesn’t demand otherwise. According to Jackson, the franchise quarterback should be leading by example, but in Detroit it was Suh and Calvin Johnson who did that.
“You see clips of Peyton Manning, however limited they are, you see him drilling his pocket presence, his footwork and different things like that,” Jackson said. “The time period I was out there [in Detroit], I didn’t see any consistent drills like that on a daily basis where he’s working on the drops and evading the rush and different things like that. . . . In my opinion, when you’re making that kind of money and you’re the face of the franchise, you put in work. And I don’t think that I was the only one to question that. When you see a guy like Calvin and Ndamukong working hard on a daily basis, doing extra stuff, and you don’t really see that from the quarterback, it’s like how can you be mad with the results? Because it’s not a high demand they’re placing on him for improvement.”

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner is among those who have wanted to reach through his screen and grab Stafford by the shoulders. "He's going to believe that there is a way he can put it in there and he disregards his reads," Warner said on NFL Network. "Sometimes you see his footwork … his footwork is all over the place. By far the most undisciplined quarterback in the National Football League."

I'm looking at the numbers and I just don't see it with CJ compared to the other 2. And iti's not like Moss had HOF QB's in Minnesota.

Moss without a doubt. Could you imagine his numbers if he played with Brady sooner. His years between his Viking and pats tenures sullied his legacy.

He had the 1 monster year with Brady an another with Culpepper. Moss's problem wasn't the QB's it was himself.
What I can't imagine is Rice's numbers if he played in offenses that threw the ball 600-700 times a year.

Glad you were able to dust the cobwebs of those old links...it is nothing I hadn't seen before and certainly stand by what I said.
I couldn't care less about what a talking head like Warner thinks...and just a reminder, Lawrence Jackson harbors resentment toward Stafford because he was a cap casualty in Detroit. The fact he didn't think he needed a QB guru is indicative of nothing.
If you have been following the last couple years under Caldwell, he has been overcoached to the point where it had taken away everything that made him successful to begin with.
The idea he doesn't put the work in is bullshite.

Moss did not suffer because of Minnesota QB's. Cunningham, Pep, and the Moss ratio - he was awesome there.

Warren Moon was his QB there also.

Moon lasted played for Minnesota in 1996. Cunningham was there in 1998 when Moss was a rookie and caught 17 TD's.

He was in Minnesota pre Moss. It was 98 Cunningham, 99 Cunningham/George then 00 Culpepper.

Culpepper was pretty awesome.

Yeah, Pep was awesome. 1998-2004 Vikings were so much fun to watch.

Randy Moss at his best still can't hold Rice's jock strap.

That's right blame Stafford’s inconsistent play the last several years on everybody else. Stafford is a veteran & deserves all the criticism he gets. His mechanics are hit & miss. The amount of turnovers he has had over the same time frame is a direct result of his poor mechanics.

I always tend to take Rice's stats with a grain of salt (no pun intended) because he played with two HOF QBs (including the GOAT) and a HOF coach in Walsh.
I'm no TO fan, but his career has been underrated the longer he's been out of the league.
