N Saban looked his players in the face at the Duf, said he wasnt leavin, I'm committed to the program" and was gone the next day. Tru story"

Plax was talking about Nick's time at Michigan State. The Duf is the Duffy Daugherty football building.

But Plax is speaking the truth. Nick has nothing to complain about distracted players because of the NFL. Saban tells the kids he'll get them to the NFL. When he recruits Nick doesn't give a crap about the players getting degrees. Nick wants victories and he tells kids he'll send them to the NFL.

Well there's no disputing that shite! Took 5 pages, but I'm finally convinced.

Wow.

That was one of the more idiotic things I've read today on this subject.

The people in this thread are idiots geeez

Plaxico is not talking about Saban leaving LSU, he is talking about Saban leaving Michigan St. He is saying Saban told him he wasn't ready to go pro and to stay at MSU and finish the job then bolted for more money at LSU. Then he left LSU for the Dolphins for more money then went to Alabama for more money.

His point is Saban has been criticizing the leaving early process to the NFL and he(Plax) is basically saying Saban has left a bunch of places to go after better situations and money. He's saying Saban shouldn't be criticizing or calling that issue to attention based on his own past.

LSU was bound to turn it around in the early 2000s because Louisiana high school talent was at an all time high late 90s and 00s. On a national level. And most these kids were coming to LSU regardless with no other competitor in state.

Saban deserves credit but he only won one championship here. LSU helped further launch Saban as well. This talent here gained him national perception as this tremendous recruiter and he really did become one of the best.

He's a great college coach that gets tremendous talent. I would have loved to see him try to build back one more national program. Would be very intriguing.

All that said the guy is just a jerk. He whines about the hurry up offense. He pouts on the sidelines and cries about any rule that doesn't benefit him. Saban's been blessed at Alabama with tremendous talent and the benefit of doubt from officiating. Right? He's had such great fortune.

Okay I'll try to explain this now.

Saban is upset because his players were focused on the money they were about paid.

What Plaxico is pointing out is that Saban told him, "Hey we need to go finish what we started." and then bolted for the LSU job because he saw the money they were about to pay him. Basically, he had no intentions of sticking around.

Do you see the hypocrisy in that?

but it's two totally different situations, Saban is one of the best coaches of all time.

He's talking about 21 and 22 year old kids that haven't done anything yet. Jeebus!

Who the frick was Nick Saban when he left Plax & the other Spartans players out to dry? He certainly wasn't one of the greatest coaches of all time back then.

They weren't coming before he got here. You think La just started producing NFL talent in the 2000s? We fed the Florida teams with talent, they weren't coming to LSU due to some bad coaching hires.

Damn there are some dumb arse Bama posters in here.

Louisiana has pumped NFL talent for a long time. People forget the amount of NFL players Eddie Robinson produced at Grambling. This list is impressive.

Am I on crack or something? Every coach that has ever left a program leaves behind kids who think "wait a sec, he told me he'd be here all 4 years!"

How the hell does Plax have a point? He and Saban discussed his NFL future. Saban got a new job. What the frick does that have to do with him discussing something that he thinks hinders his ability to do his job of coaching and winning a football game?

You must not be able to read. And what does Alabama have to do with LSU, Michigan State, or Plax?

You asked how would Plax know Nick Saban.

Obvious answer is obvious for any real college football fan over the age of 20.

87 said, "Plax is saying Saban didn't focus at LSU."

I said, "how would he know that, dude?"
