Yes. Very common and accepted thought that Saban was thinking of his future in the NFL when he was discussing and agreeing to coach the miami dolphins. I don't hate him for that, it is understandable. We are all human

I recall Nick Saban telling me to stay in school finish what I started, I wasnt 1st round pick and he left for LSU b4 the season was over

What does wanting Plax to stay and play in college have to do with Saban taking a new job?

quote: @plaxicoburress Now Nick Saban goes on tv saying that kids are distracted by NFL projections. Well, the kids are just chasing a dream that you were. $$$
Saban doesn't give a frick if they want to chase their dream. He wants players who are giving full effort because he has a whole team, fanbase, and bosses who REALLY want Alabama to win. In no way shape or form does this tweet make sense. He tries to maximize their chances to win. If a guy is gonna coast he needs to know. What the hell does that have to do with chasing dreams of being at LSU or the NFL?

What does this even mean? What does LSU giving Saban money...have to do with...idk what he's trying to say....chase dreams? None of this makes sense. None of it.

Looks like Saban gave him the best advice possible. I have a hard time believing Saban doesn't act in the best interest of his players.

Dude. He left LSU, people got pissed. Saying he didn't give full effort or whatever you're trying to say is baseless. Ok people say he didn't give effort in that last loss after he left the team. They also think he's the modern day Hitler.

You're saying Plax is correct, and this proves Saban is a hypocrite, all because people think he didn't give effort. That's the weakest argument I've ever heard dude. You're point is nowhere near strong enough to have a thread full of people saying THIS proves Saban is a straight hypocrite.

Saban told Plax to stay in school and "finish what he started". Well he is calling Saban a hypocrite here because Saban left LSU and clearly didn't finish what he started

Today, Saban was clearly upset players weren't focused 100% on the game because they were looking ahead to the NFL. Plax is calling Saban a hypocrite for doing the exact same thing to LSU in regards to the Miami Dolphins

You can disagree but it is very easy to see the point he is making. And most people agree that the points are valid. It isn't a big deal, Saban like all humans is a hypocrite

And what proof do you have the players were distracted? Those are just as "baseless". The fact is a coach in discussions with an NFL team who announced he is leaving during bowl prep is likely distracted, just like a player is

but it's two totally different situations, Saban is one of the best coaches of all time.

He's talking about 21 and 22 year old kids that haven't done anything yet. Jeebus!

I don't have any. I'm not saying the players did that, because I have no clue. Saban said it, and he might be wrong.

Now Saban is a hypocrite for not saying "guys I'm leaving later in the year, I need y'all to leave." Do we even know that Saban knew of the LSU job at the time?

How in the holy hell would Plaxico Burress know this dude???

Wait what? Now coaches can't leave places? And holy cow it's the coaches job to win games. He's trying to win games. If his crazy arse thinks his players aren't trying then that a problem for him. Wanting to avoid that is what a good coach does. How the shite is that being a hypocrite because he was good enough to attract NFL teams?

Nick Saban is a compulsive fricking liar. Plaxico isn't giving us any new, ground-breaking information here.

All because he said his head coach tried to convince him to stay and then moved on to a better job?

To you hate every coach in history?

No it isn't. He was distracted every offseason by NFL teams and it affected our recruiting at the time.

It's why he didn't dominate at LSU like he has at Bama.

What do you call taking LSU from the doldrums of Hallman and Dinardo to a BCS Championship, and left enough talent to win another. In three years we won a championship. In four years we won another. Now its been seven years.

I would give him the benefit of the doubt. What if he hadn't taken the LSU HC position???

Ya don't say

Everybody but Gumps see the hypocrisy with NS. Shouldn't have to come here and defend him though. He wins at Bama and we know that's all that matters.

I just at the fact that UA fans will fight to the death over any negative comment made about Saban. Accept the fact that you have a HOF HC. Who just so happens to be a hypocrite and a liar.

Would you care to explain how this here makes him a hypocrite?
