In one of the worst eastern conferences in NBA history...

You are acting like Ilgauskas and Mo Williams weren't all-star caliber players...oh and where was Varejao on your list? Without Lebron, past his prime, Varejao was a 14/14 player who played tenacious defense.

Kobe's team was WAYYY crappier than Lebron's that year....WAAAAYYY crappier...and they did pretty well in a much tougher conference.

Class dismissed.

mo williams actually wasn't even on that team.

lebron's side kick was larry hughes
kobe's side kick was lamar odom

after that, it gets ugly on both sides.

Are we talking about the same Larry Hughes that was a 22 ppg 6 rpg 5 apg and a ~22 PER player while leading the NBA in steals before joining the Cavs in his prime. That Larry Hughes?

the ONLY season where he had >2spg. 22/6/5 shooting 43%

you act like odom was a scrub. he was coming off a 15/9 year, shooting 48% and 5.5 apg

ETA: not my fault that kobe was taking 27 fricking shots a game

ETA2: 14 seasons in the NBA, the great larry hughes shot >=40% a grand total of...7 seasons.

No, not that Larry Hughes. As you said, THAT larry hughes put up those stats the year before in Washington.

Nice cherry picking!

Joined them, averaged 15.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.5 steals and a PER of 14 (i.e., BELOW LEAGUE AVERAGE)

You're right, definitely superior to Lamar Odom.

ETA: And his PER declined to around 12 and 11 in the years after that.

That Cav's team had two players outside of Lebron that had higher PERs than Odom and that's NOT even including Hughes.

I have a feeling you're cherry picking again. Taking Odom's lowest season with their best season. I might be wrong, but you need to show evidence.

Just saying.

Crazy how good player's have their stats plummet when they play with Lebron but players have career highs playing with Kobe.

It reminds me of Wade sucks derp derp. Bosh sucks derp derp.

Telling.

Simple answer is eFG%, its the most important factor in PER and Kobe is a high volume scorer but not a particularly efficient one.

People/NBA unfortunately don't take into account 3 point shot in affecting players fg%.

KG shoots 6 for 10 & scores 12 points on 60% shooting

Ray Allen 4 for 10 & scores. 12 points on 40% shooting

Is KG way more efficient than Allen this game? 60% >40% ,

They both scored 12 points on 10 fga's therefore Ray Allen's eFG% is the same as KG.

eFG% is far more accurate than the outdated traditional FG% which penalizes 3 point shooters.
